huh? if we only had one eye? ....hmmm, His statement seems incorrect - I had sight in both eyes, but now only one ...yet I still am able to have depth of view as before.

We have two types of depth perception cues. One is monocular cues, and the second is Binocular cues. Meaning we have cues for depth perception that can come with one eye and two eyes, but having two eyes is very beneficial in depth perception, and allows us to see optimally in 3 dimensions. This is why 3D movie are filmed using two cameras. The two eyes and two cameras are crucial for the best 3D picture.
