oflightz put in the spot but also I think it's harder to get into a character accent while saying a tongue twister. If he just said 'do this accent' I think she could have done better (like you heard her say something with an Irish accent but she couldn't say that sentence in an Irish accent)

It's not actually a tongue twister (It's actually a sentence for typing practice because it has every letter). The difference is that she usually has a dialect coach helping her work on the accents.

Agree Eva! However, I think it is because of the learning process. I speak several languages, from different continents, and German was the hardest of all - so far! It took me about 6 mos. to get a bit more comfortable with it. I, too, used to think it was aggressive - but after learning how to 'breath' in between and make full sentences - it is a very beautiful and intelligent language! I say intelligent, because I refuse to speak French now... That is a dumb, language! Sorry Le français - but they do not have ways to express many things and end up sounding 'unintelligent!'

It is just a typical thing for westerners to think all Nordic accents sound like that. I work with many Norwegians and there's a wide variation. Some talk like they are singing, while others are perfectly normal and speak better english than some.

maryx4x Yeah the Irish always pish and moan about how badly everyone does their accents. They even criticise each other's accents! (For only 2 of many such examples: Saoirse Ronan caught flack for sounding too American and changing between too many regional Irish accents. Ruth Negga's accent raises eyebrows. It's irish... But it often sounds RP... And traces of Ethiopia and other places are in there, too.) I think the Irish are just salty bc they are struggling to speak and refine standardizations on their own language. (Thanks to a long history of British opression.) So yeah, I don't blame Tat for not touching any Irish accents with a 10 foot pole!

As soon as the video began I said "Oh, Kevin Smith." Then I looked through the comments and saw that people were mocking the "interviewer." God, that makes me feel old! Really, people don't know who Kevin Smith is?! "Clerks"? "Mallrats"? "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back"? I'm not really a fan of his work, but he's as recognizable to me as Tarantino and Scorsese are. I didn't watch the video and think "Oh, he's such a creep!" I'm thinking "Kevin Smith has really gone all in with this IMDb thing." He looks ridiculous with that logo on his shirt. He could be wearing a shirt that promotes one of his favorite overlooked films, but he's gotta earn that paycheck by putting IMDb front and center.
