The Tatra Slovak Dancers is the premier Slovak folk group in Wisconsin which strives to authentically present and preserve traditional dances from all over Slovakia. Slovak folk is one of the most dynamic in all of central Europe. Slovakia is a "little big country" in the heart of Europe and it is proud of it's traditions and folk costumes, some of which are still used today.
In Slovakia, folk dance and folk music is getting more and more mainstream visibility and attention. The Tatra Slovak Dancers is a group consisting of first, second, and even third generation Slovaks. It is a joy and pleasure to represent Slovak folk and bring Slovakia closer to all Slovaks living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the USA.
