This theme song brings me a sting of sadness. I guess b/c I think about Bert Convy, along with the others who appeared on the show, who are no longer with us. It's still a terrific theme, though :)

You can always tell a Score Productions theme.

You can always tell an Edd Kalehoff theme! There are several Score compositions written by other people that don't fit this mold - Family Feud (written by Walt Levitsky) and Match Game (written by Ken Bichel), to name two. A lot of Mr. Kalehoff's work -- most, if not all of it, actually - involves the use of a Moog synthesizer, and samples like the one used during the bridge in this song (listen closely, and you'll hear it used in the Price is Right theme too).

If you listen carefully, the end of it is also a match game '70s tiebreaker cue, very rare cue for MG. Bert was great on the CBS/PM MG versions and was due to host the '90 revival...which would have made it great.

"Everyone in these arenas had a money stake in one of three famous couples! "They were ALL playing the game of celebrity gossip--'TATTLETALES!'" Sad to say, some of the celebrity couples on "TattleTales" ended up divorcing.

I remember this show played on CBS as a matched pair with Match Game. I much prefer this original theme to the '82 version. I miss Bert Convy, he did a great job ... Thanks for posting!

Liked the show when I was a kid. But in 1975, KHOU (Houston) replaced it with Dinah's new talk show. So I got to watch it once a year on KENS (San Antonio).

For some reason this song just makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. Seriously, 70's game show/ commercial music is just the epitome of creepy to me.

KPIX (San Francisco) pre-empted this show the first season with reruns of Perry Mason. I remember as a 4-year-old being disappointed each and every single time, at the end of MatchGame 74, Johnny Olson always saying "stay tuned for Tattletales, next over most of these CBS stations" and after commercial break, the famous Perry Mason theme song.

Don't forget Greg Brady's fro, or Juan Epstein's! This was the 70's, you could go on forever with who had a fro. Broadway's Annie, Jan Brady's wig, Mrs. Roper, Bernie in Room 222 ( his fro was WAY bigger than Ritchie's or Jason's, or anybody on the planet ), Art Garfunkle, Chaka Khan, Ronald McDonald ( a smooth fro ). You could really have fun with adding to this list.
