long time no see, stranger.
I've been gone for quite awhile. life has taken me on a ride the past 2 years. lots of changes and it's taken me longer than expected to get my footing again. but I finally feel like I'm in a good place. ◡̈
at the beginning of july, I started something new at the start of the new decade of my life. the big 3-0. kind of poetic in that way, isn't it? I'm currently a tattoo apprentice (?!!). a long time dream of mine that somehow has become reality. the apprenticeship program is under soma tattoo studio, headed by Hoa (Ca) Nguyen & Eric Nguyen - 2 very talented vietnamese tattoo artists in orlando, fl. I'm truly so honored to be able to learn this beautiful art form under their guidance and mentorship. the program is 3 months long and I wanted to document as much of it as possible! it feels like a very important and transformative time in my life, so I wanted to share this experience (and also just have record of it for me to look back on one day~).

How to keep having the motivation for it? I love drawing and i been debating on focusing on becoming a tattoo artist but im lowkey worried

@@Thereisnogodlmaoo honestly i’m not going to sugarcoat it, it’s a very hard discipline. it takes a lot of dedication to the craft to see genuine progress. and motivation is a very unique thing. so what motivates me may be completely different for you. i can only speak for myself, but what has kept me going is my love of it as an art form. i think to be able to etch art onto someone for hopefully the rest of their lives is such a profound honor. i think tattooing has brought me so much inspiration that drawing alone couldn’t give me. and like with anything that’s worth it, it takes hard work. i hope you don’t let fear hold you back. if you find passion in it, i urge you to try and pursue it. you never know until you try :)
