Loved this, I hog the 3RL and when used correctly it's the best needle at your disposal! I do notice they dull a bit midway through a session I use Kwadron and the stronger you whip it the quicker they dull but it's all apart of knowing your needle.. Big up the 3RL BROTHERHOOD 🤙🏻😂

Great video. For the newbies: pay attention to his building of tones. He isn’t driving the needle into the skin. He is using pressure and speed to get the ink in and build it up to the desired tones.

I just recently bought all the stuff to tattoo just to try it out I have been running it at 8 volts though I’m gonna try 4.5 I have only tried 3 different times but so far I feel it’s came out pretty good I noticed the shading needles I have are really wide though It’s kind of annoying when you have to shade finer areas so I been doing them with the 3RL one Basically the same thing you’re saying here lol Wish I saw your videos earlier I been basically just figuring it out on my own but so far it hasn’t been that difficult I’m gonna watch all your videos n hopefully get even better Thanks for the tips bro N that’s a sick ass piece you did on this guy

Again for the newbies: Needles / ink flow. Sometimes the ink isn’t going in the same as it was earlier in the tattoo process. A few reasons can be glide has built up in the needle so ink can’t be held the same way. Needles can go dull during longer sessions. The skins reaction to the tattoo. Sometimes it’s just a tougher piece of skin ie. scar or high wear area that has become calloused.

Really helpfull again Jon. Thanks for talking about the ink not goin well into the skin in the end. Just today i had the same thing again on an arm towards the end. Finally i got to hear it from a professional that its pretty normal. I also changed the cartridge 3 times and tryed to clean the skin and let it dry but it still felt a little like a waterballoon. I finished it but it was way harder towards the end. Really needed to hear that !!
