I've always heard Tattoo pronounced as you did, but Kurzgesagt being locate in Europe, so maybe that's how it's pronounced over there? People usually attribute English pronounciation either to the American Accent or the British Accent, with others countries being somewhere in between (like Canada), but there often are different official phonetic pronounciations in certain countries.
