Most excellent video. I have misophonia and as soon as I try to play Tattoo I can’t get past the nasal vocals. I can only watch the video when it’s muted so I can appreciate her performance. She’s excellent on stage but boy oh boy the nasal part is not something I can overcome. Cha Cha Cha is not my type of music but it’s so fun fun fun. I especially like how you described the storyline as the performance goes on and that helped me appreciate Käärijä even more. It’s a tough battle but Loren’s nasal vocals puts me in a bad place and I can’t even appreciate the song. Best of luck to both.

After listening to Loreen´s Tattoo you forget it right away. I can´t remember what it was about, who did what and why in that song. These kind of songs we have heard over and over again. Käärijä´s Cha Cha Cha on the other hand is something that stucks with you. The last time Finland won it was Lordi, in 2006, and he was crazy, over the top, memorable...What about Käärijä... crazy, over the top, and memorable. Therefore, Käärijä is the winner for me.

As a Finn living abroad I am SO used to having almost invisible and unmemorable songs in the competition, I cannot get used to all this hype around the Finnish entry this year. I first saw Cha Cha Cha in the UMK. At first, I was watching through my fingers, saying omg omg, this is so cringe, I just can't! I then called my Portuguese husband to watch the winning performance with me, at this point he was having the cringe effect while I had already moved on to the stage of tears streaming out of my eyes, laughing hysterically, not understanding my own reaction. I hate rap! I hate metal! I hate EDM! I put it on the third time and BANG. I got it. I got it all. Finland can't compete with other countries in the general pop/power ballad field. We just can't. There are a million better singers and songs from all over the Europe and if we try to mimic that, we get zero points. We only seem to get "seen" when we step outside the box, in good and bad. Growing up hearing how ugly spoken and sung Finnish is, I am so happy the Finns finally had a tiny bit of national pride to throw in a song in Finnish (trust me, I don't get to hear Finnish too often in my daily life so it melts my heart when I see people trying to learn the lyrics etc.). Our machine gun like language seems to fit the purpose pretty well. And not only that, it's about the most typical Finnish problem, being exhausted by the long week and too shy to let go and dance without some Dutch courage. So, all in all, it is the most honest Finnish song I've heard in a long time. I've loved Loreen ever since Euphoria and she's a queen but for me, Käärijä makes me proud to be part of the weird Finnish gang. We are a bit of a crazy bunch, I admit. I bought some Finnish flags for my kids to wave and I will be ready with my Piña Coladas in May. Even if Käärijä doesn't win, he did me proud. Ps. my views are totally biased, of course. 😉

No question Cha Cha Cha should be this year’s winner. Loreen’s song is great, but it’s nothing new. To me it also feels more repetitive, while that 2nd half of Cha Cha Cha blows you away the first time you hear it, and the call back to the first style of the cha cha chant at the end closes the loop to tell a full narrative. 12 points to Finland 🇫🇮!!

Still agreeing with you. Tattoo is a good song (I enjoy the ethnic and electronic sounds in general) and Loreen is a wonderful performer, but like a singing coach commented: "It is a risk avoiding performance." It seems to me as an over-produced, both song and the stage performance and it leaves me cold, which is a pity as the song itself is emotional. I have felt conflicted about it, not least because hearing how Swedes reacted to it in Melodifest final. I thought it would win with a huge margin which it did not, it was the only surprise for me in Melfest. If it was for me to decide which song Sweden should have sent to ESC, I would have chosen Six Feet Under. I am still waiting for a metal entry from Sweden, because there are plenty of high quality metal bands. (Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames forever). Here is my ranking at the moment. (Votes from Finland) 1. Serbia 2. Czechia 3. Australia 4. Cyprus 5. Moldova 6. Austria 7. France 8. SWEDEN 9. Spain 10. Great Britain Sorry Norway. Queen of Kings were in top my ranks at one point. However I like the beat about it and some parts of the lyrics as well. When It comes to Tattoo I kind of getting the more quality of songs that I seek for, with emotions and a powerful voice along with an amazing mix of beat and a stage of more perfection. The vibe I get from the cha cha cha stage is pretty much everywhere, but hey that's my opinion. There are some points that I don't like If I should say something bad Tattoo. Cha Cha Cha is admittedly more grabbing than Tattoo, but I do believe Tattoo has one strong upper leg than Cha Cha Cha, in that this year's Eurovision is quite edgy. We have a deliberate chaos sung to poopoo a fascist, an ear worm pop that satirizes music industry, two alternative rock songs with one came from German (finally), a post punk about nihilism in face of infinite world problems, a K Pop song with political lyrics akin to Pussy Riot, and a lullaby that's both electro and primal in it's acapella. These songs arguably has the more vocal fans and dedicated voters, but people who think these songs to be a bit too much would vote for a more traditionally competent song, and Tattoo is this. Either this or that family song, but I doubt they would go ham on stage, and that's also a factor for Eurovision.

Actually the a with dots doesn’t make it feminine. But Usually when we have a word with umlaut in Finnish all the A letters in that same word are written with umlaut. There’s only one exception that I know of the word tällainen which means like this. Otherwise always use umlaut though out the whole word 😊.

@@eurovisionhistories This systematic a/ä uses (also with o/ö) in Finnish comes from the fact that the letters "a" or "ä" indicate totally different (phonetic) sounds, so different that it is difficult and not very practical to say them in a single word. That's why, in Finnish, a and ä never coexist in a single word (neither o and ö), hence: Käärijä. I don't know whether the next trivia interests anyone, but the exceptions to this rule are the compound words. The example word above, "tällainen" is an abbreviation of a longer expression composed of two words ("tämän+kaltainen"= like this, or simply "this")), the first one with ä vocal, and the second one with a. Another example, "jäätelöauto", a compound word of "jäätelö & auto" (literally, ice cream car) = ice cream van

Of course Loreen! Better song. Magnificent vocals. Exceptional staging. And noone can perform like her. She pours her heart and soul into every note! Hahaha thanks for the great video but you are so obviously in favor of Käärija on before hand. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 The arguments dont really hold imo but that is ok and its fun to watch. You have a very nice voice to listen to! To switch the mood and style of the song to match the lyrics isnt particulary genius though. Its done in musicals f.e all the time. Does a song need to be original to be good? I would say its a plus but originality in itself doesnt make a song good. Cha cha cha isnt as original as you might think. Its literally a copy of Electric callboys we got the moves. Check it out and you will be surprised. I was astonished that you gave 1 point each for the staging!? The staging of CCC is pretty amatour like...almost likea from a school play. And I dont even want to start with the lyrics. Even if it is an attempt to describe the finnish introvert stereotype. I really find it problematic to use alcohol as a metaphor. Are we really ok with our kids singing along that they want drinks and to drown their problems in alcohol? The ending when Käärija carelessly sings about how good he feels after drinking is so sad. But maybe its the point. With that said...I dont mean that I dont like CCC. Its a catchy song and the artist is charismatic. Good luck to everyone and may the best song win❤ Happy ESC-season y'all!

For me personally it's Tattoo. When my mother died it was like that, our time here is over, but it's not the ultimate end it's goodbye for now but we'll meet again...so the lyric 'violins playing and angels crying when the stars align I'll be there' for me means when my time comes I will be there with you again..and not just her but all of those I loved and who loved me who have passed on. That's only a handful of people, but still. The memories are the tattoos. When each person I loved died it broke my heart, they all took pieces with them so they have to keep those safe for me until I get there. So that lyric of you've got my heart in your hand also resonates with me. And I'll go through life as best I can, pain, fire, rain bring it on. If that's what it takes I'll do it because I know who awaits me on the other side. And if needed I'll suffer pain and fire and rain to keep my sister and her child safe en love them as best I can with the left over shards of my heart. So yeah, Tattoo wins it over ChaChaCha for me 😂 On every level except perhaps originality. It may not be anything new but for me it's still the song that I prefer. And given the nature of the lyrics of ChaChaCha and my own experiences with that I can't enjoy it as much as everybody else does. But that's on me, that's not the song's fault at all. I actually do really like the beginning..the Schlager happy sound towards the end not so much. And the literal chacha dancers...I don't know, could've been a little less on the nose for me, or bring them on later in the performance..but it looks fun for sure. And pet peeve...acid green and neon pink..just no...😂 I hate those colours but that is a personal taste thing. This is a song that is so not for me but I recognise the artistic merit of it and ofcourse I can tell it's super fun and the whole audience in Liverpool going ChaChaCha! is going to be a great Eurovision moment that I'm looking forward to see. And unless something dramatically changes after the rehearsals I think Sweden and Finland are going to duke it out for the win. And deservedly so imo. Big love to Sweden and Finland ❤

I see the attraction of Tattoo and it is a perfectly produced piece❤️, but I feel there has been so much overall pain and seriousness in my life and in the world lately that I just need to jump around like a crazy person and smile and ride a freaking pink centipede in a rain of gold confetti or I will explode! I think that sentiment will divide the voters, the people that connect with the sadness and the ones that need the escape. And that all comes from personal background and experiences so there is no guessing which way this will go! Which to be fair is kinda exiting!

@@lemonielala3080 Yeah I can totally understand that. If that is what you need to do than do it :-) I am the opposite, I like to wallow in the sadness of others to attach my own feelings to..partly because it helps me cope and make sense of the things around me and find the words I don't have to express myself and partly as a means of escape. If I feel other people's pain I don't have to feel my own..bit dramatic but you get my point I hope. That doesn't mean I don't also enjoy upbeat or uplifting happy songs...But I naturally gravitate more towards the more dark sad songs. I agree that having such different songs makes the 'fight' to the top more exciting :-) Not just these two but also a couple of others who could win it are all polar opposites. I'm just really excited for 3 great shows in may. I won't join the human centipede but I might throw some confetti :-) :-) Wishing you a great Eurovision season!

Definitely tattoo. Vocals, stagin/performance, song. Everything is better in tattoo in my opinion. Cha Cha Cha really isn't as unique as some people like to say it is.

Tattoo all the way. People are pretty pathetic about trying to find as many flaws in Loreen’s performance as possible just because they know she’s the biggest threat to their fave. Desperate and sad. Finnish entry has its pluses and strengths like uniqueness and catchiness, but that performance gives me zero “winning” vibes, due to not being polished, some parts of the staging being a bit tasteless, in the end becoming just messy with weird actions like lifting the singer for absolutely no reason. IMO less is more. Also second part of the song is going into childish area in a bad way, becoming a joke entry while first part is actually cool. Loreen knows what she’s doing 100% and you can tell it from the first until the last second.

Käärijä is not circus, I am not the biggest fan of the song but calling it a circus is doing it a disservice. Loreen and Käärijä both bring quality in their own way and there is no need to put one down to lift up the other. I prefer Loreen to but I do not feel the need to put down Käärija or his fans. Eurovision is a big place, there is room for all of us. ❤

I experience Eurovision as a contest where you celebrate different styles of music, creativity and originality. I also have positive feelings if staging/song is a little bit out there or something we haven't seen before. So in that sense, basic pop songs or acts that feel familiar are more of a "just another song for eurovision" for me. Cha cha cha is definitely something fresh and new to ESC. I agree that Loreen has one of the best voices of Eurovision history and also her performance style is iconic. But as an 2023 Eurovision song and Eurovision performance, I would like to Cha cha cha to win because it is a perfect example of a song/act that gives me a reason for watching and following ESC in the first place. But it is very intresting to me to understand different views or experiences people have about ESC!

Cha Cha Cha is not memorable?? It's ok to not like the song, but this is a straight up lie. The title alone is very memorable, the song is different enough of the others to make it memorable, the performance has unique enough visuals to make it memorable. Don't go around saying this nonsensical stuff Not memorable........ Ok then
