It is very hard on real skin do the same, keep the very saturated solid black and don't overwork the skin.

Try using your elbow for movement rather than your wrist when packing black. It keeps the needles at a much more consistent depth. When the movement comes from the wrist the needles tend to hit at different levels and can make the black look very patchy thus having to over work the area to correct. 👍

Thank you for sharing man. I'm always curious what exactly the tattoo artist means when he says just lightly using the tips of the needles? Or when they say they are applying a little more pressure sometimes.. shouldn't the depth be consistent depending on the area being worked? If you only lightly tattoo the skin wont it washout? Id love an explanation of what it means and how it actually works because I hear so much about the ink needing to be in a specific layer.
@maelysdaubeuf2842 Жыл бұрын
The ink needs to be in the derm (which is the second layer of the skin). The derm is about 1 to 2 or 3 millimeters. So as long as you put your ink between those 1 to 2/3 mm your ink is going to stay. If you’re going lightly you’ll reach the beginning of the derm, while if you put more pressure you’ll be deeper on the derm (closer to the 2/3mm I was talking about) Hope it helps a little !

Hey Daniel, I have seen the brutal blackwork project. They move really fast. Are their machines moving at a higher voltage than usual? I'm not interested in doing it, was just observing. You can achieve the same result without the torture anyway.

Hey brand new to this. Curious about the mag. Why are you using a rounded mag over a straight? I would think that the straight mag would be more concussive if I had to hold my machine at an angle at any point. Wouldn’t the round mag make an almost feathered look when, holding at an angle for tighter spots? Or is it because the rounded mag is less damaging on skin? Thanks!

@DanielYuck Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind feedback and support Irvin! I appreciate you. I actually love both and for different reasons. I prefer round mags for shading and I like straight mags for textures. Although this is only a preference we as the artist can pretty much use them as we see fit.

Doesn't it cut The skin when outlining With The whole MAG?
@fuglybob97572 жыл бұрын
I'm still a complete noob. But as I see it, (personal experience) when using a mag for lining, if you just use the corner as Daniel did. It's no different than lining with a liner or shader. If you were to line with the full width then I guess depending on speed on how much damage

@@fuglybob9757 He used The whole width of The MAG in some places. That was my question. I'm noob tattooist myself and I have made that mistake.

How many passes are allowed before you start to overwork the skin?
@DanielYuck2 жыл бұрын
Thats a great question and a question that I wouldn't be able to answer easily. There are many variables to consider. Is the artists hand heavy? What type of setup is the artist running? What voltage is being used? Generally I always want to pull 1 pass lines but to attempt to answer the question I would not recommend anything over 2-3 passes. Plus double passes tend to change the original shape of the line if we don't follow over the original line to the T.

Hey Daniel. Is there a difference between using a double zero mag versus a standard mag when it comes to packing? Your advice is much appreciated!!
@hewhoc8664 Жыл бұрын
Hey man, my understanding is that with 00’s being a smaller gauge (thinner individual needles in the grouping) it causes less trauma than a standard would. 00’s also deliver a less or slower ink flow than a 12, which may sound like a negative, but as long as you’re using the right technique like in this video, it just means less ink to wipe away, keeping your stencil and area a lot cleaner. Hope this helps.

@DanielYuck11 ай бұрын
From my experience it’s been super hard to tell then an artist over works the skin. I rarely ever see overworking of skin as you mention here. It’s not as easy to overwork the skin from my experience and also what I have come to notice is that 1 artist will have a different number of passes over another. So if it took one artist 3 passes to complete but another artist it took 4-5 is not uncommon and doesn’t necessarily mean the artist overworks skin. It’s not impossible to overwork the skin but it’s also not necessarily an easy thing to do when an artist has their application down nor is the application the same. Example I’ve seen some artist move faster when packing black and others move slower when packing black. Both results are great but the application was night and day.
