great explanation adhyApikA ji. dhanyavAdaH. in the same vein and logic , i feel that we must spell in english as samskRtam and not as sanskrit … there is no need to still be in the shadows of the colonization and anglicisation of indic words … how can there be an english word for samskRtam phonetically different that is even tolerated and allowed by adhyApikAs like your esteemed self? i strongly feel that influencers like yourself should consciously make efforts to spell all indic words phonetically accurately using one of the many available transliteration protocols. the easiest i find is the harvard-kyoto … and i am very glad to see uday shreyas ji using this in his samskRt channel , even though he has not renamed the channel itself …

Thanks for making crystal clear the pronounciation of intra- word anuswara . Here in the case of the letter succeeding the anuswara having anunaasika , one has the option to replace the anuswara with the corresponding anunaasika and pronounce the word accordinglly or pronounce it retaining the ..M- ending of anuswara . Kindly clarify if the same option can be excercized in pronouncing words which end with anuswara. Or to say more specificalliy how to pronounce the linking of two words where the first word has got an anuwara in the ending. This doubt has arisen because the Poorva Peethika of Vishnu Sahasranama is replete with words ending with anuswara and available renditions vary on this count. Hope you will take the trouble of responding .

According to IAST ं is written as ṃ and in ISO15919 is written as ṁ So the proper way to write संस्कृत will be Saṃskṛtam Or Saṁskr̥tam Otherwise prevalent way is fine.
