Excellent incorporation of The Who’s album performance into the pin play! Unlike some of the others, I prefer the music from the album over the movie soundtrack. I’ve got a “Tommy” pin being transported to me at the end of this month, & this will be one of my first upgrades. Thanks for the demo!

I'd love to see a Tommy machine loaded up with music from the 1975 film. Can you believe that the first licensed pinball machine was dedicated to that movie?

I can't imagine owning this machine, but not the PinSound board with enhanced sound. It sounds like a brand new machine.

I would have swapped out The Who's version of Pinball Wizard for Elton John's version of Pinball Wizard simply because his version was in the film and would have made more sense instead of the who's version.

How would the game sound if the original cast recording was used (I'm not talking about the digitized versions)?

Sounds great! Such an improvement over the original sound board. Just wondering, have you ever considered upgrading the speakers on any of your pinball games? I used some "Response" branded component speakers from a local electronic store called Jaycar and installed them in my Jackbot and the difference was amazing! So much clearer and more bass. It really enhances the whole experience of playing the game.

Hi, yes there are pinball fidelity speakers in this pin, in the UK we have a guy who supply's quality matched speakers for reasonable prices so its all good :-)

Data East’s pinball machine was the ultimate physical souvenir of the 1993 Broadway stage musical “The Who’s Tommy” at the St. James Theatre. All of the game’s visuals were drawn from the production’s Tony Award-winning designs and its original acting company (they provided many of the vocals, too). Now it's entirely your prerogative to replace the machine’s music samples with those from the original 1969 album by The Who -- especially since you own it. But now the audio doesn’t match up with the game’s visuals of the actors, or of the New York production's set and video projection designs. I guess if you wanted to boost the sound but still match the visuals, you could have drawn music samples from the RCA Victor original cast album of the Broadway production.

i also own this machine with a pinsound in it. The beauty of it is that i have this audio mix in it with 2 other mixes as well. the original score, this one of Julien (changed out the horrible tetris audio with Battlefield 1942 intro music) and the RCA original broadway cast mix. I can change them on the fly (even while playing) so everyone can play to the music they want. Gotta love pinsound for that.
