in their very first interview in Russia they Julia asked the interview to ask them if they were lesbian, and when the person asked she said no. Years later, Julias said honestly that she was into both genders and when her and Lena kissed it was real, with emotions.

To be honest I don't buy a lot of it. It was a thing that Julia said she had relationships with girls and the director of their old record label said that it was common knowledge that she was living with one of the dancers for a while. If that's the case then why does Lena say here "maybe Yulia's a lesbian, is there something I don't know". If it was common knowledge in the group's circle then Lena would already know that Yulia is bisexual.

Check the inside story first. The IMAGE of lesbians (yes, a public image) was created by their founder and producer Ivan Shapovalov. And they had it in their contract to look and act like lesbians both live and in interviews. The truth is that they known each other before they went to casting for Tatu project. They dumped Shapovalov and Universal label back in 2004 (universal contract was for 5 albums), and since then they have to straight what was true and not about them, and they do it well.

If you read about their backstiry, it says that they were really young, 14/15 when they joined tATu, and that they're manager came up with the whole underage lesbian thing. I think earlier they didn't know quite how to respond during interviews, or didn't want to go against they're manager but now that they're older they can tell the truth. I
