I would also add to this video, in addition to the Tau being out POV for a race discovering the horrors of this setting, they are also the next race to inherit the galaxy. Just like the Humans, Eldar, Necrons had their own golden age, thematically, this is Tau raising to become the next in a long line of empires that rose to take the galaxy…. The question is: will the Tau survive to get to that point and if they do, will history repeat itself and the Tau find themselves losing said empire

I really dont understand why the Tau trusting the dark Eldar after they saved them from Nids is seen as them being naive. Judging by all the information they had at their hands during the time there was no reason to suspect faul play from them at the moment (its not like they have a codex handy). Pluss the DA look far less monstrous compared to other races that are part of the Empire like Kroot, Vespids, Nagi and Galgs. Also, to give them more credit they actually learned from that expirience and have managed to succesfully fight them off since then (meanwhile there IOM has known the Eldar for 10K + years and there are still people who cant tell their different factions apart)

Saying Tau are relatively 'nicer' than the other races is acceptable, but hearing people lament how they were the only good guys is what made people hate them. It got so bad Games Workshop literally had to spell out how shady the Ethereals are to some of the naive dipsticks playing them, that a lot of it was a front. Because people have to have that sort of thing spoon fed to them apparently.

Not a game its games workshops shitty subscription service. The space scenes are from the game battlefleet gothic armada 2 however, its a space combat game set in 40k and really worth your time

I still hate that tau won against marines that they shouldn't have, at least let it be marines like Minotaurs who are known for just rushing. Even the chapter master getting fooled seems rather silly, and even on tech standards the marines comms and weapons should still be able to function, especially power armour (they can use it without power duh.). As to make the Astartes an actual fighting force because as far as I'm concerned the tau can already win with JUST ai mechs, hence why their tech isn't better per say than astartes although their weapons are just as nasty. Still, beating raptors in warfare when the raptors beat another chapter with the same set of skills still couldn't beat 20000 tau seems like blue ultramarine plot armour. Also why the F wouldn't 200 astartes not have their OWN air units? That seems counter to what they're supposed to be.

Another thing is They're not super advanced, people over exaggerate so much about their technology, but all they have is plasma and railguns, while the Imperium has so much variety from flamers to lazer rifles, to AR rocket launchers, to meltas, to gravity Cannon's, it pretty ridiculous to say the least. Especially when a faction who fought for over 10 thousand years is losing a couple of battles to a race that has barely any combat experiences is also dumb.

@@vothbetilia4862 The t'au technology is significantly more advanced than all but the ancient technology of the imperium. They both have plasma and laser weaponry, but the T'au have Ion, sonic, far more advanced Rail technology, far more advanced maneuvering technology (smaller, better, stronger grav generators), and really the only thing holding them back is that they haven't engineered the psykerless gaia field technology of the golden age of the imperium. Also, just so you know, the tau have this focus on weaponry because almost every single planet they've tried to colonize has been utterly infested with orks. A standard T'au mech pilot (the ones who have proven themselves in battle) has probably seen more xenos combat than the average space Marine, and certainly far more proportional to their short (60-80y?) lifespans

@@jamieflynn8853 "probably" a single lascannons is able to pierce through the battle mech suit in the torso, and no they don't have laser weaponry, literally their main components of weapons is literally plasma, and their plasma isn't even remotely strong as the Imperium when the Imperium has stronger coils for better pen, since the Tau put their weapons on low power. Their hammerheads can't even maneuver dense Terran and even expose themselves because of the hovering shimmers, a space marines has fought for more then 1 thousand years which they put bolts on their foreheads to show service, theirs not even significantly more advanced, since the Imperium still does fine with their tech and proven to be more volatile. And also Plasma doesn't kill the target all the time, but merely wounds them, but even then, the Plasma shot has to hit important organs to kill the target, this is why you seen Orks and guardsmen still fighting even though they were simply grazed from the shot. And to top it all off, the Railgun is actually rare to witness for the Tau because of how expensive it is to manufacture them, yet the Imperium has their own which is basically the multi melta, or solar weapons, but at a cheaper cost to build.
