I would have also done a look to the left over the shoulder when leaving that roundabout not just the wing mirror

You say that this is one of the nicer routes but it looks like a bit of a nightmare to me. I'm an experienced driver (looking at this because I intend to take my motorcycle test at Taunton, and I don't know the streets at all) but there's a million roundabouts and that one junction that you have to do in stages is just horrible.
