The frustration with the sights escapes me, reality is that this is still in the belly gun category or strictly for defense. Not target shooting, woodland protection, or much fun at the range. If you can’t make a center mass shot at 10 yds (30 ft) the gun isn’t the problem.
@menomisespeanut Жыл бұрын
I still like a decent pair of sights. Especially for night time environments. But I do agree that one doesn’t need to spend $200 on optics or fancy sights since most encounters take place in less than 10 ft. and you’re not gonna be aiming. Just pointing and shooting. And that’s IF you’re able to quickly assess the threat. To each their own.

CAUTION: I am glad that so many people replying to this video have found the gx4 reliable. Unfortunately I got one recently and the very first several shots all jammed because the trigger won't reset. This is a common issue that many people have had with this gun because the manufacturing/engineering of the trigger release is made so that it is very susceptible to this problem. So while many people may not have had a problem it may only be a matter of time. Perhaps some of the them are more flawed than others. I love the feel of the gun, the look of the gun and the price. So I am really disappointed. It is going back to Taurus but I don't know if I can be confident with it regardless moving forward knowing it is a design problem to begin with even if they fix something temporarily.
@menomisespeanut Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I totally understand and respect that evaluation. I hate to hear that she got a lemon and hopefully Taurus’ customer service isn’t too bad and they will fix your problem. But even if they do, I definitely understand if you wouldn’t feel comfortable carrying it. Perhaps you should check out the new Canik MC 9 that’s about to come out next month. I know I will.
@chrisryan8863 Жыл бұрын
@@menomisespeanut The thing that frustrates me is that the trigger reset issue really should have been identified if Taurus really test fires them (like they claimt they do) and if the gun store selling it also checks it upon arrival. With my gun's case the problem was evident immediately so it could have been identified before I even left the store. I didn't rack the slide specifically to check triffer reset when I picked the gun up. That is a learning lesson for me.
@menomisespeanut Жыл бұрын
@@chrisryan8863 damn. Yeah, I always check the trigger whenever handling a firearm. Again I’m sorry to hear that and hopefully their customer support service will come through, but I definitely don’t blame you if this leaves a bad taste in your mouth for Taurus. How good should the sites be on a edc/ defense weapon?
@menomisespeanut2 жыл бұрын
What a coincidence. I’ve been looking into that as well. I watch a lot of armed Citizen defense videos of people fighting off attackers with their EDC, and if you look at a majority of those videos unless you have the upper hand or a good vantage point on an oncoming attacker, a lot of times people don’t really aim when using their pistols against someone. You have seconds to unholster your weapon and get it up pointing at your target. Unless you are an extremely skilled marksman that has trained well in combat situation‘s, you’re not gonna be aiming. You’re going to be pointing and shooting. Coupled with the fact that a majority of your encounters with people are less than 7 yards from you, so not a lot of time to aim in those instances. And that’s if you’re able to assess a potential threat in time before letting them get close to you. Having said that I still encourage owners to invest in good sites not only so that you can improve your marksmanship but if it could be of any help or benefit to you in the situation‘s why not? Most of the time when I go to the range I’m just going to shoot. And I usually shoot less than 7 yards from my post and I guarantee you my marksmanship is very well. Without spending $$$ on sights or a red dot.

Sure and thank you for watching. I’d really love to shooting the G3C and I found it extremely comfortable to shoot. I shot 115 grain federal ammo and it was a real pleasure. The grip for the G3C is very very strong. I have no doubt in my mind that if you have oil, grease, or if your hands are sweaty in a high intense situation that gripping the pistol will be of no issue. But it is a little rough and if you plan on concealed carrying, it will definitely be irritating to the skin. But I really loved the G3C and there are so many positive reviews about it. I find the GX four to be good as well. But I chose that one because for me as a female with a smaller frame it’s a lot easier to conceal with less of an imprint. It is a bit snappy with the factory magazine, so I purchased the magazine with the pinky extension and I will probably also purchase the 13 round magazine that they have to compensate for that. But so far I’ve had a very good experience.

Trigger pinched my finger a bit, but a slight adjustment to my finger and that was gone. I also felt the sights were shit. So, I replaced mine with an Ameriglo front sight. Available on the Taurus web sight. Absolutely great, inexpensive upgrade. I did add pinky extensions on both magazines. That too enhanced the pistol for me. I would like for Taurus to supply them in the box with the gun. 2 of them with shipping was almost $19 The part was $4.99 each . I only paid $341 through GunGenie. That includes shipping to your FFL and Taxes. Felt that was a good deal. Enjoyable video, and I had to subs to your channel. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
