Bought one a couple of weeks ago. Took it to the range the next day and it ran flawlessly right out of the case. It's a tack driver. Only ran 100 rounds through it because of ammo shortage. A+ Taurus for the 1911 9mm. Great value.

Five Star Review! Excellent overview. I think the "rough" feeling you get when racking the slide all the way back is because of the full-length guide rod (It's a feature, not a bug). Be well, Sir!
@GSquaredTactical4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t say it was a “bug” just felt odd as my Springfield, Sig, Kimber and Para Ordnance were all smooth as silk all the way back. I have the Taurus, Rock Island and SDS and they all have that gritty feeling at the back of pull. I figured it was something with the cheaper 1911’s, but as I said it didn’t affect performance at all it was a freaking blast to shoot. I have somewhat of a 1911 lust. I own 1911s from the low end to high end. Call me lucky, but all have functioned beyond my expectations. Of course I don't expect the same feel and precision from a $350 1911 that I have in a $5000 1911. I bought a Taurus 1911 in .45, several years ago. It was a sloppy mess, but after some work, it turned out to be pretty decent. Since the move from Miami, FL to Bainbridge, GA, quality has improved exponentially. I plan to one another Taurus 1911, but in 9mm this time. I do have two issues though. I don't like blacked-out triggers and I don't like officer-style hammers. Both of those will have to go.

I had a guy give me a hell of a trade years ago. A stainless Taurus 1911, and $400 for a Glock 26 EXO that I paid $500 for. Why? The guy said it was brand new, unfired. The outside was spotless, so I thought nothing of it. Got home, and realized there was more than enough build-up in the barrel, and internals to just be test fired. I cleaned it, oiled it, and test fired it a week later. Literally could not go 1 round without failure. The extractor was so far out of spec, it wouldn't even touch the rim of the casing. Put it in my extractor tensioner, and with just a small crank - it broke into 3 pieces. HUGE voids in that junk MIM part. Replaced it with a Wilson bulletproof extractor, tuned it, fired 100 rounds without any issues, then sold it.

I have a PT1911 in 38 Super with a glossy black finish with gold accents. Love the gun but it occasionally locks the slide back without chambering the last round. The fascination with "out of the box" gun testing is an example of firearms ignorance. If you have any common sense and knowledge of guns, you will take down any new gun (particularly a semi-auto pistol), thoroughly clean and lube it, reassemble it correctly, function check it dry, load all new mags with dummy rounds and let them sit for at least a day (longer is better), test inserting and ejecting the mags, cycle the dummy rounds through the gun while function checking it again, then go to the range for live fire and see how it performs. Start any gun with proper maintenance and continue to maintain it and you will minimize issues and maximize it's useful life.
