When I originally made this song back in 2024, I was only thinking about the "normal" wasteful spending that the government seems to undertake. We have all heard, for years, the stories of hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on government retreats (aka paid lavish vacations for politicians) but in the last year there has been a HUGE eye opening on the topic of wasteful government spending. For me, this started with an item from the Auditor General in Canada reporting that the federal government was spending $78 million dollars a year RENTING, not buying but RENTING, artwork to hang on the walls of government offices. This was part of a long, long list of wasteful spending of money in Canada and abroad. The rise of DOGE in the US and the recent revelations as to what kind of taxpayer money is being spent on ridiculous things by USAID that don't benefit the taxpayers that funded it, makes this song all the more relevant today. So, here's a newly remastered version thanks to MasterChannel.ai Wez Clark AI mastering tool and Capify.ai'Lyric Video generator. Maybe there will finally be enough outrage by us taxpayers to get at least one of the tax man's hands out of our pockets.
