Taxi Driver is one of my favorites, so interesting to see you draw parallels with one of my other favorite films, Drive. On that note, have either of you seen The Driver, directed by Walter Hill? The influence it had on Drive is quite striking, both in the broad strokes and in several small details. Right down to what could easily be a direct nod by Refn, in that both leads go unnamed and are credited with essentially the same title, The Driver and Driver respectively.
