I played this guitar in a shop awhile back and I loved it. I played several other higher priced Taylors and Martins but kept coming back to this one. It felt great and sounded amazing. Maybe it was just that particular one I was playing but I haven't stopped thinking about it and hope I can actually afford it one day.

was waiting the whole time for you to play. next time play a min or so begin. or mid. then talk it up. i did like your forthright presentation. bought the non dlx xmas & been playing it every day. not totally enchanted - sounds great strumming & a lil picking but when i go over to some hard picking blues solos dont dig the sound. also bass e unfretted just sounds like it is from other guitar. changed from 13 to 12 elixirs wh helped some buzzing. when i pick carefully it sounds great -strumming opposite - u can go hard on it or soft. plugged in it can magnify my bad technique eg em7 w pinky just doesnt work. then last night got out my reverb pedal oh my god - beautiful. btw unplugged higher strings can have these lovely ringing sounds - sustain in electric parlance. i still have 3 days to return it but worried i might go crazy & pay twice the price on a diff taylor. seems most people dig this model. oh yeah when i first got it right off the bat it was very easy to play.

A guitar usually sounds rich at the shop because it's already played-in. The wood top has already opened up a bit. At home, the very first unboxing, the guitar will always sound different. Don't be discouraged, but give it a couple weeks and you'll hear the change :)

It’s actually Rosewood(gloss finish) and a mahogany neck(satin finish). But other than that everything else is more or less true

Correct, rosewood, but the neck is Sapele. Great guitar!!! Just got the 214ce sb dlx with satin rosewood. for $1200 you CANNOT beat it at the price point and even a little more.

First, they're black String Pegs. Second, the back and sides are layered Rosewood. As far as aging, the top is solid and will age however, not sure how much that layered Rosewood will change in sound. You can get a nice solid wood Seagull for less than this Mexican made, not all wood Taylor.

I have the SWS from seagull they're cool but don't sound that good and the Taylor is more confortable to play any style while the seagull is more for fingerstyle.
