I have the Ibanez PNB14, which is basically their copy of this (using literally the very same strings) for about a third of the price and it is great fun to play and learn on.

Hey, can the MiniBass keep up with an acoustic guitar without amplification?
@RichToneMusic3 жыл бұрын
Lot of variables involved. For gentle/quiet practice yeah sure. If singing, heavy strumming all going on - and i'd say definitely in any kind of performance at all required - an amp will still be needed......

Have had mine longer than this vid has been out. It's too quiet un plugged. It does not sound like a "p" bass. At least not without effects applied. Now, run it through a good bass pedal board, tweak the settings, plug into a nice bass amp, and, it still is mediocre at best. My first Taylor purchase and I'm sadly disappointed... it's actually the same as riding a scooter instead of a motorcycle. Sure, they're fun to ride, but, (1) you never want anyone to see you on one, and (2) they will never perform as well as a full size motorcycle. Oh, and the gig bag, it is better than nothing, but, for as much as this thing costs, it deserves hard shell. But, that still won't fix how dull and lifeless this thing really is... do they even still make this thing???
