He did not have many ints because teams avoided throwing in his direction. The guy has got great size, very good speed and great skills to play DB, he translated very well to the NFL.... a Ronnie Lott type of guy.

Taylor Mays is going to revolutionize the safety position in the NFL. NEVER has there been anyone with his speed and athleticism at that position. Usually safeties roam the field and tackle the guys who catch the ball. With Taylor Mays back there, teams don't even throw it near him. That's the difference.

Hyped because of his measurables? People don't throw it deep on the Trojans because Mays is roaming the field. We had ONE pass thrown against us that was over 20 yards the ENTIRE season. Look it up. Sean Taylor: 6 feet, 200 pounds, 4.5 Taylor Mays: 6'3", 230 pounds, 4.25 (4.3 timed and consistent) He hits the hardest because he runs the fastest, not Eric Berry. Mays needs to work on arm tackles, but besides that he's amazing.

i think smart decision for him, sucks for SC tho. but we do have 3 people returning unexpectedly. Josh pinkard and jeff byers both got a 6th year of eligibility and also Mays. sucks that tebow, mccoy n bradford all stayed, if 2/3 of them went sanchez probably stays. but good decision for him, has a chance of bein a top 3 pick

Sean Taylor was the same size as Taylor Mays and ran his 40 in 4.5. Sean Taylor also bombed the Wonderlic test, Taylor Mays is far more intelligent. Taylor Mays runs in the 4.2's. No joke.

Did you see the Playmakers on Miami's Defense when Sean Taylor was there. PLAYMAKERS stand out regardless. USC had NO PLAYMAKERS in the secondary last year. He should have stood out there.

If he runs a 4.28 then he needs to start putting his hands up and intercepting the ball. I've seen quite a few times where he has a pic and decides to hit them instead. Also, he needs to put his head up because in the Nfl they like to call helmet to helmet. Other than that though; he's a monster

There has been plenty of players that had THE ATHLETICISM but didn't live up to expectations. (Reggie Bush for starters) But you can't just say hes the greastest when he hasn't played a nfl game. Hes good but I just know he isn't the best safety of all time. lol!

Mays was too stiff and didn’t have the ball skills to play FS/SS in the NFL. In my opinion, he could have been a good LB but he never fully embraced that role at that level. I also think he let not getting drafted by P. Carrol at pick 12 in the 1st round get into his head too much. He was no doubt a freak athlete who, unfortunately, never reached his full potential.

@10DenC2devast8 ...Hey dummy Taylor Mays ran down Jahvid Best( see USC vs Cal). Best ran 4.35 in the forty and Taylor Mays does run in the 4.2's. He also ran down Stefon Green (see USC vs Penn State). Stefon Green run 4.28 so I think Taylor Mays does run a 4.25 or a 4.24. BoooYahhhhhhh!!!!!!

Look Eric Berry is better than Taylor Mays .All Taylor Myas does is hit people. Eric Berry hits people Cause Turnovers and got 4.3 40speed. Taylor Mays runs like a 4.6 40. Taylor Myas doesn't compare to Eric Berry cuz Berry is way way better.
