I agree! For me it’s a good song especially in showing Taylor’s diversity. She can write super pop cute stuff with not much meaning and she can also be deep as fuck. Honestly, even I don’t understand why people can’t have fun with a song. It’s such a happy and colorful one, not every song needs to be deep and thoughtful. Let her have fun too! I remember in a video about making this song, when Taylor came up with the chorus, she was like ‘I want kids to sing along and go ME-EE-EE’ or something like that. She’s so cuteee. 🤍

The fact that this was just an award show, and still she put so much effort into it and the fact that there were people swinging in the air, like literally this is stadium tour energy in an award show... Also, there were people swinging on umbrellas in the air on Speak Now tour Haunted performance, and now she has reached the level where she has people flying and swinging in the air on award show performances, like she peaks everytime she does something new... Also, Jeff, she won ARTIST OF THE DECADE at the American Music Awards, and this was the Billboard Music Awards...

I love this song, and in my opinion, this is the best performance of it! And I’m pretty sure this was her first live performance of the Lover Era, so it was almost like Taylor’s public rebirth after “rising up from the dead” via “Dark Taylor” in Reputation. So, as the first public performance of the Era, there was this huge visual change coming from the Reputation Era of dark colors and snakes to the pastels and color bursts of Lover. At least, that’s how I see it.

I don't know why people hate this song, since it's probably my favorite song in the Lover album lol. Not lyrically; that spot probably goes to either Cornelia Street or Daylight, but... The sound! It's so much fun and it brings me unlimited amounts of joy every time I listen to it. Also, the music video and this live performance just made me like the song a lot more because of how beautiful and spectacular they are, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I don’t know does anyone told you that thing, but this performance is so colorful, bright and have lots of drums and dancers because it was THE FIRST time they performed the song ME! on stage EVER. Of course their labels spent so much money, time and work in it ‘cause this performance is represent the song to people all over USA. The music video and the performance are great. Some people thought the line "Hey Kids Spelling Is Fun" was too juvenile, maybe that's why it was removed from the song before the album release. Some people also question Taylor's choice of Lead Singles as not being the best indicator of the rest of the album.

I’ve just this moment come to the decision that if you hate Me! you must also hate You Belong with Me. It’s basically the same message: I’m the best person for you. But, You belong with me is written from the perspective of an insecure teenager comparing herself to other girls (she wears high heels I wear sneakers) and Me! is from the perspective of a nearly 30-year-old who knows she’s awesome and feels comfortable being just that (there’s a lot of cool chicks out there...but I’m the only one of me). It’s growth. Also it’s just a fun song to hype yourself up with.

I think the hate came from a massive positive reaction (which was still there at this time) of people hating the bridge and an over play. Note the Jonas brothers did a great performance at this show too but with no props as such. Brandon and Taylor did some cute vignettes leading up to this. This is not the decade performance... that one covers the decades songs at AMAs and is worth a watch
