Super great reaction, my favorite line is "If the story's over, why am I still writing pages".

Honestly, probably one of my favourite TS songs, the lyrics are SO GOOD, and the instrumentation is so interesting too so on both fronts it's just a high tier song for me. The live from Paris version of this song is amazing too- if you haven't reacted to it yet, the Cornelia Street live from Paris is stellar as well.

😂😂😂Yesssssssss! So happy you reacted to this song, It really is a good song, even better when it is just her and her guitar, hope you will consider listening to False God next time, Have a great day! Oh...went and checked out your song Friday night, well done!

Fun fact- Taylor said that she wrote this song after watching the movie 'Someone great'

Fun fact- The movie 'Someone great' was kind of based/inspired by the song 'clean' by Taylor Swift. A nice full circle 🙂

You should watch Taylor's performance of this song in her Tiny Desk concert for PBS. Just her and her guitar, and it's brilliant. There is also a video of her performing the song live in Paris.

you should react to False God by Taylor if you haven't heard it already! it's from the same album as this song, and musically it's my favorite from the album. Love your reactions as always, hope you have a great day!

Taylor: "My, my, my, my..." Everyone: What's that about? Weird, but ok. Taylor's bridge: "How about that killer use of foreshadowing at the beginning to set up this genius callback here, with even a direct repeat of the beginning in the background vocals of the last line." Wtf? This is a perfectly constructed, beautifully written song, and she's a mastermind.

Since you don't have a Lover playlist, I suspect you have not reacted to this one: Taylor Swift - "False God" (Live on Saturday Night Live / 2019) kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZunZH-ljdVghtk (And I really do recommend this video. The live performance is great.) And, speaking of SNL, you really ought to react to this amazing combo: Seth Meyers Gives Props to Taylor Swift for Writing Her “SNL” Monologue kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5aTg6WbaJqrpqs Taylor Swift Monologue Song - SNL kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWPXqJaJe76fqpI

Taylor is so freaking tricky. The vibe is all upbeat, like “I’m doing awesome!” but the lyrics are like she (or the character) is in the depths of hell after the breakup since she has to run into that person again and again it reopens those thousand cuts again.

she does a nice intro to the genesis of the song in her Tiny Desk concert. Live, just her and guitar; and there is another live version from her City of Lover concert in Paris where she lets go a bit more with the audience. Interesting how she pulls it off without the synths or the background vocals.

Ya know, I’ve never played this version after to listening to the album originally. I ALWAYS play the live version of her in Paris. It’s just Taylor and her guitar and the audience and it’s…. It’s the song she originally wrote at home before she went in the studio. Here’s the link. Afterwards, the same person posted Cornelia Street which you need to hear as well. ❤ Thanks for your reactions. I love them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKLWnqWJrrGHhK8si=cgmoO-VOhZ_kMJ7l

idk why but "paper cut stings from our paper thin plans" just huuurts. i guess its the acknowledgement that as much as it hurts, its just a thin cut, nothing serious, cause your plans werent all that serious in the end either

kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKLWnqWJrrGHhK8si=6KvzxUXihIfYrhTz This is a live, more rock version that you’d probably prefer (since you kept laughing, which was confusing to me). She’s singing about her relationship slowly dying and the pain it’s causing her while you’re just laughing. Sounds like a living hell to me, tbh.
