she had been putting so much pressure on herself for that exact reason. hopefully shes not in some unhealthy frantic state of mind, like I believe she used to be, where she had constantly felt like each and every Albulm needed to be more and more successful than the one before it. She seems so much better this way -- in contrast to making trendy pop songs and screaming stuff. After listening to these two albums I have become a fan. One of the things that I love so much about her song writing style is that it is based on her genuine feelings and life experiences, rather than just trying to come up with "cool" or "catchy" lyrics, but it did bring a lot of negative attention from media dissecting, & reporting on what her songs are about, and then expressing their displeasure about it ( why, exactly, is beyond me) but that was not good for Taylor, or her fans. So, I'm glad she found a way to still be genuine, but with fictionally story telling, so we can enjoy her songs, and not have to witness the media trying to tear her down because they think they know what she is writing about. Very clever and creative!
