But relationships can end and still have been incredible experiences that changed your life forever and indelibly changed you for the better. Both of these things be true. Their love may be done but that doesn’t mean that they still aren’t tied together forever. People may go but their love and the memories stay. I am in my late 30s btw so I may have a more mature outlook on this, I don’t know. I still have a lot of love for (most) of my exes and what they brought to my life during the time they were in it as a lover.

Okay then, would the "Gold Thread" be Lover? Since there's songs like "Daylight" on it and it generally feels very 'golden' so to speak. "One single thread of gold tied me to you" and if I remember correctly, Lover was all about how love takes time and patience and work. I think "Wool" would be Folklore and Evermore, since it's "wool to brave the season". The Pandemic has been rough on everyone, so I'd assume that's the season we needed to brave. I think that "Barbed Wire" sounds like Reputation to me. "Something wrapped all over my past mistakes in barbed wire" makes me think of songs like "Dancing With Our Hands Tied" or "Getaway Car". I'm not sure about "Chains" though, I only started paying attention to Taylor's music after Lover came out and my friends were obsessed with it and I only know Reputation because of the Stadium Tour on Netlix. It is "chains around my demons" though, so, hope that helps.

the word 'folklore' means stories and memories passed down by mouth. i think this album is not at all about one person like her albums usually are. this album has songs about her current boyfriend, old boyfriends, current friends, old friends, lots of memories from her childhood, more recent memories, songs about people/events that never happened, and some songs about herself. it's her memories, her life, her stories, her love, her dreams, and it's folklore. she's passing down her memories to us so they can live on, or be put to rest. the album is called folklore because every song is quite literally folklore.

I love how she adds the lyric "bad was the blood of the song in the cab on your first trip to L.A." as a little reference to bad blood. It's just so romantic how she adds in all these little lyrics really centering the song around them being connected from the start. And don't even get me started on how sweet her voice is in this song.

i was talking to this boy last year who's really into music with deep imagery, i told him im a huge taylor swift fan and he should listen to folklore (her latest album then) because i bet he would love it. he said he'd give it a try then the following night while we were talking about his family he randomly shared that he finished listening to the album and invisible string is his favorite out of all. mine was mirrorball. we're not talking anymore but every time this song plays he would cross my mind. he was a really nice guy, maybe if i wasn't so complicated we could be something more.
@eyexha
@eyexha 2 жыл бұрын
"maybe if i wasn't so complicated, we could be something more" though this line is highly relatable and is the reason why i ruin things for myself, you should know there exists someone out there who'd take you "out of all the wrong arms". It's mostly the wrong people and circumstances that make us believe that something must be wrong with us even though we try, try and try. If anything I could take away from these albums and especially this song is that I'll find "my one" too. Maybe tomorrow, maybe when I'm 30. The invisible string is here and that's cool with me. Up until then, exhaling it all.

That's because she has such a limited vocal range (and that's okay - a lot of great singers only have slightly wider ranges than her, Karen Carpenter and Dusty Springfield for example), she just hammers the melodies on the same clusters of notes and it is very somnambulistic. The producers either bring in back up singers or do some pitch correction to add a little variation now and then.

The line "Teal was the color of your shirt, when you were sixteen at the yogurt shop, you used to work at to make a little money" is about Taylor’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn and his old part-time job in London where he worked at 'Snogs Frozen Yogurt" Additionally, all employees wear the company’s staple teal uniforms. -Genius
