She's had 4 years under Biden to make any of the changes she's claiming she'll make, and still has 3 more months to put any changes into motion.. Why wait? If she could prove herself rather than just saying what the public wants to hear, I'd be all for it.. I just want groceries that are affordable, I couldn't care less what the gender of the President is. Politics are extremely divisive, and because of that, I hope you see that my only true care is for those around me, not who is necessarily occupying the White House. Btw, this is Austin. @@FivesACrowdjust keep in mind that she is only the VICE PRESIDENT she is not the actual president of the United States on top of that congress is ran by republicans currently so they get the choice of passing what the current president and the current VP pass to them and this republican ran congress has passed the lowest amount of bills in the history of congress, it’s not as simple as the VP makes a decision of what to do and then it just gets passed because they are the vice president or president not to mention the Supreme Court is also currently republican conservative stacked as well which has also blocked a lot of bills as well, so please do your full research before making any decisions in voting for a party, this election is literally the choice between having democracy or not.
@FivesACrowd2 ай бұрын
Hi Alyssa, I appreciate your input. You are correct in that the VP can't pass laws themselves, but that doesn't mean that their voice isn't heard, they are still part of the Presidential Cabinet, and I can't imagine the President would bring along their choice of Vice President to sit quietly and do nothing for 4 years. They are supposed to be a team, and I would pray that if Kamala had solutions to the issues that are currently abundant (inflation, border security, housing market), she wouldn't just sit on her hands and do nothing. Although the the Republicans may control the House of Representatives, the Democrats control the Senate. This division means that while the House leans Republican, the Senate remains under Democratic control, creating a split Congress. This is a perfect Democracy. No one party should control both, even though the Democrats held all three entities from 2021-2023, with the Senate at the thinnest of margins (50/50 but Kamala broke those ties). The media is fantastic at aiding the divisive nature of politics, but this is why the government has so many checks, balances, elections, and term limits (to some degree, which I hope they pass). And yes, the last 2 years has had the fewest bills passed since the depression, but it isn't because Republicans have ultimate control. Both parties are shooting down bills. This was primarily due to heightened political polarization and a divided government. And let me make this clear; I am not a huge Trump fan. My vote remains with RFK, who was Democrat and not allowed on their ballot, who has since dropped his Presidential bid to endorse Trump, and Trump has stated RFK would be in his Cabinet.

And the worst part is, is that all of these celebrities are so beyond removed from reality with their wealth that they don't understand the struggles of needing to afford groceries, let alone housing! This economy is a joke, and it directly effects our family and everyone I know, and I only want what's best for everyone. Unfortunately, being vocal about these not so fun subjects is one of the only ways to bring these tough subjects to light. Women are not carying out abortions in late pregnancy unless there is a health risk, and we are loosing our right to health care with his policies. Many women have to travel to other states to get one if they are in need, and sometimes can be persecuted by the law. ( some states regardless of how a women became pregnant will not allow an abortion now) I don’t want to live in a country where a women doesn’t have the right to choose her own health. @FivesACrowd2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, I truly appreciate where you're coming from, especially with such personal connections to different communities. For me, supporting Trump is about policies like strengthening the economy and securing the border. I believe in a fair immigration system where people can come here legally and work toward citizenship through established processes. There’s a path for immigrants to obtain citizenship, and I think making sure our borders are secure while helping people come legally benefits everyone. My concern isn't about a person's race, ethnic backgrounds, or sexual orientation. It's about the safety of who could be crossing the border and their motives. Having a family with children makes you focus on their future, and an open border policy is very terrifying. I’m curious though, how do you feel that voting for Trump conflicts with having immigrant friends or family? Do you think it’s possible to support strong border policies while still valuing and respecting immigrants who contribute to our country? I’d love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks again for the conversation! I really respect the dialogue and the chance to understand your perspective better.
@jacquelinequinones19522 ай бұрын
@@FivesACrowd when you hear him speak, he is not fair in generalizing policies. Not every immigrant is a rapist, murdered or criminal (they are not eating dogs and cats). In Europe didn’t President Regan tear down the wall dividing Germany? Now he’s a Republican president that I truly admire. America was created on immigrants, not only back in the 16th and 17th century, but in the 19th century how many came through Elise island? How many Irish, Polish, Russian, etc came here? But he is taking one country, Mexico and targeting them. If it’s a matter of the drugs, that’s not the way to control it. The man to take control first is Nicolas Maduro. If a family comes to the US and you want to send them back, the way is not making those camps he has which separates mothers from their children and horrible things happened in those camps. Those camps remind me of Hitlers concentration camps. My grandmother lived through that War, she had a brother be in one of them, the Nazis took her home for them as a base in her town in Belgium 🇧🇪 and she was a widow at 23yrs old with two little girls in toe. I agree that immigrants should takes steps to become citizens, that if an undocumented person commits a crime send them back, but not in the conditions he describes. He was his home in Florida? Have you ever been there? I move there years ago after college and came back PR some time later for personal reasons. When I went back 20 yrs later I could not believe the amount of Spanish speaking people there were in Ft Lauderdale, 20 years before they were base mostly in Miami and Orlando. Now they are everywhere. 1.5 Puertoricans (approx) moved to Florida after hurricane Maria and after COVID. With Trumps mentality he might say one day, why do we have a commonwealth in PR.? And take away what we’ve had since 1890’s. A lot of us want to become a state. Most of my family has passed away thinking they would lived to see that dream and it still has not come to fruition. We go to war with the US, we receive benefits and money from the US, then why hasn’t this happened? I know Trump is not going to make it happen. When he came here during hurricane Maria he asked about our President? We have a Governor, he’s was our President. He was taken to the damage was very little and was her 1 day. He thru physically paper towels in a donation line instead of handing them personally to each person who showed up. He had to make a second trip here because his image was so destroyed by the things he sad and did, his publicity team made him come back to redeem himself. No one cared. You see things like January 6th in countries like Venezuela, Haiti, Columbia… but a President that doesn’t want to admit he lost and put in the mind of his followers that it was ok to rally in front of congress to protest, it got out of hand and a woman died. The death of that was not the security officers fault, he was protecting the Senators and Representatives that were in that room. You must of heard the stories of how scarred they were. Only after that happened he asked the people to go home. And by the way, if you ask your people to rally to protest, he should have been there leading, showing that he was with them. But when you leave angry people to themselves one little thing can bring what happened. You know I was a fan of his shows, I grew up seeing him in the 80’s. But the minute he decided to run he showed his true colors. To me a leader talks about we not I. Doesn’t speak angryly in a public forum and is not prepared with concrete and factual answers. If I was him, if everything that he says about unemployment and great economy is correct I would know those numbers by heart and have proof in hand. He only speaks about his greatness, about what he did. The last debate it was clear. It wasn’t 3 against one. It was 3 prepared people against one unprepared. That wouldn’t have happened to Regan or Bush and many other great Republicans that have been in the White House. The great John McCain was a man of knowledge, respected from both sides of the isle, he had republican views, but not radical republican views. Always poised, never hear scandals from him and his family. I don’t care what color or gender is Kamala Harris, they both could of looked like ET’s, you see a good leader in the way the speak, shows presence, takes responsibility for his actions and the ones he represents. That is in politics to a retail manager, a leader has the same qualities. Two more things, I don’t want a President that thinks Putin is great and I don’t want a President that even before he’s in office has has two assassination attempts. He won’t make it the 4 years, and that VP he chose us not a President. When JFK was shot, he had LBJ who at least knew how to handle what happened and continue as President. Thank you for answering me, thank you for letting me tell you my story and my point of view. I definitely think you guys are great, but you should leave these topics out of the Vlog. I appreciate the response, a lot of great information in there. I won't be able to talk on every point you've made, but I'll do some; While I do agree that not every immigrant is a rapist, murderer nor a criminal, I do believe there needs to be a better system in place for the immigration process. Kamala doesn't know what she wants to do, and has been very back and forth on the subject of securing the border, as she is on a lot of topics. Extremely wishy-washy, and seems she only says things to please the crowd. One day she wants open border policies, the next she wants to secure it. I'm not a huge fan of Trump, but I at least know what to expect. My main concern is that our country remains safe from terrorists, especially for my children and their futures, and to be able to afford groceries. I just don't see Kamala doing that, especially when she's been VP for 4 years, and had the opportunity already to make change. On Jan 6th, there was no documented case of a murder of a woman. I have one more question; It seems another main concern seems to be directly associated with Trump and Puerto Rico, when Biden has been President for 4 years, and has done nothing different for PR. I definitely don't see Trump destroying the commonwealth, when he shown no interest in doing that previously. Do you truly see Kamala making any difference? Thank you again for the great conversation.
