@@christinalittleton2242 That's pretty much what happened to one of my favorite characters, who happens to be one of the most realistic characters I've come across. He's a very talented sorcerer who was given the job of royal sorcerer because his father was the royal sorcerer before him, but when he was about eight years old, he was blamed for an accident that his sister caused. Literally everyone abandoned him except for his mother. He endured many comments about his abilities and eventually became so desperate to be recognized and loved that he decided to take the throne from the king, his former friend who abandoned him. This whole backstory is made even sadder by the fact that this guy is a complete anxious/depressed adorable marshmallow who should have been protected at all costs. Luckily, he couldn't go through with his plans, was brought back to the right side, and is finally healing from all the emotional wounds that were inflicted on him. It also kind of reminds me of my overpowered Harry Potter persona.

No the original sounds like someone falling in love with someone who faked loving them and left them in an awful situation so they are fantasizing about revenge. This however sounds like someone who was forced to defend themselves from a traitorous friend who is now regretting it terribly and trying to reason with themselves about what they did.
