As I come up on my 40th birthday this song hits hard. Especially the part about realizing everything I have is someday going to be gone. So much has changed in my family. Gone are the days of big family dinners where my cousins and I played and sang and danced. Aunts and Uncle’s have aged. Heath problems arrived. It’s hard to come to together now. My grandma is loosing her memory. My mother is getting older and I realize now more than ever one day she won’t be here anymore. Being an adult is not all it’s cracked up to be. I wish I had known this so I could have cherished my childhood much more.
