The song is about the anxieties of being in an on-again/off-again relationship, in my opinion. The repetitive nature of the chorus really hammers home the anxious self-talk we're prone to, asking herself over and over "are we through these trials and tribulations, or is it gonna fall completely apart this time?" (Are we in the "clear"/out of the woods is the metaphor she uses for this). The video shows us the relationship did end, but she grew from it by finding herself. The song is rumored to be about her relationship with Harry Styles, I believe, but she very rarely (never?) actually confirms who a song is about, so anyone telling you otherwise is probably lying.

Like the HS tattoo on her wrist at 7:57, the matching paper airplane necklace they both wore that he gifted her and lastly a reference to a secret trip to the hospital after a snowmobile accident they had during a trip together in Utah Dec. of 2012.

It's easy to miss but in the scene where she's being held in the air by the vines, there's a quick shot of her right wrist & the initials H.S. are written on it. The wolves represent the paparazzi always coming after her, & feeling anxiety is exactly what she wrote the song about so you felt exactly right! Great reaction!

Her 1989 world tour is on YT. It is incredible in its entirety, but her performance of Out of the Woods is one of her best love performances ever. Would love to see your reaction to it! I did not know I was a "swifty" until i got ticket to the eras tour a year before the tour in 8/5/23; I followed her thru country all the way until now; During the pandemic I did not know she made tow albums and won a grammy; I was a therapist focused on the pandemic and trying to help people be ok. This song is allegedly about Harry Styles, they had kind of a tumultuous relationship, but ultimately it was the media/paparazzi that really ruined them, they were together in the height of Harry Styles' 1D days and Taylor Swift was as big as always, so their relationship just seemed very high strung. I took the wolves as paparazzi, they couldn't really go anywhere together, the media was always after them, and the relationship itself Taylor explained it as 'knowing its gonna end, but just not knowing when exactly'.

I legally died and God brought me back to life and I started this channel to bring together through Music but I was not a reaction channel I had the idea to do pregame and post game shows for America’s got talent and I ended up becoming friends with the people on the show. They would even send me their music before putting it out. We pissed off a bunch of fans because my cohost was really being to this young artist but I was a fan but then I was not a fan of her singing at eight years old I thought it was creepy. Now those same people that hate me sit back and I actually break down the music if it’s a live performance and the microphone volume is way too loud then I blame the engineer and I say that the engineer needs to do a better job. I try to say things in a positive way but some stuff is not good. Nas is one of my best friends and I love pretty much all this music but not all of his music and I’ll let Matt that if a song comes on that I don’t like and I’ll say why. Too many people are kissing ass to get to scribers to get views and I got all the way up to 5000 telling the truth, you can get that 50,000 being a fake reactor that loves everything but they’re really really good reactors the ones that tell the truth they are getting 2 1/2 million or at least a quarter million. You’re very easy to read I could totally tell that you got bored during that song and I admit to the fans that I don’t like this. I love this artist but I don’t like this. Why your bop in your head every freaking song man. For me can you try one real reaction where especially if it’s an original your breakdown how good the songwriting is and it just feels good.
