Why is that the name? Taylor named her fifth studio album, "1989", after her year of birth, therefore, that was the name given to her forth headlining tour, in support of this album. A very loving artist, she would later forge a strong friendship with a Social Media star/The Voice Phenom: Christina Grimmie in early 2016.They even celebrated Christina's 22nd birthday on the Wildfire tour before she left to join Before You Exit on their tour. Sadly that would be where Grimmie left us; far too young when she was killed in Orlando Florida. That was where Rachel; along with Adam Levine and many others, stood ready to stand by the family; without fanfare, to honor Christina's memory and help further her legacy. An awesome talent and even more amazing soul. 😎☮💚

Whether they knew the artist or not Taylor made sure that Rachel was the focus of that moment. She didn’t overpower her and she guided her on the stage in a professional sense as it was probably the biggest stage she had played at that point. No one, and I mean no one thought it was Taylor’s song.

I love both of these women. When I first heard this song at work, I only heard it in parts and figured it was just some new hokey song. All these years later, I finally have heard the words and the backstory and this is truly inspiring. On top of that, Miss Swift is a consummate professional, a legend and a instant Hall of Famer.
