"Romeo save me" is from Love Story from Fearless, when she was 18 (in 2008) so you guys are missing a lot if that's the most recent song you've heard. Fearless was country-pop but each of the 4 albums she's released since have been progressively more pop. "1989", named after the year she was born, released in 2014, is possibly the biggest pop album of the 21st century, I'd be surprised if you didn't hear any songs from it although maybe you didn't realize it was Taylor Swift since it's pretty different from "Love Story". However, being such a big superstar made her a target of the tabloids who wanted to see her fall. They kind of succeeded in 2016 when it basically became cool to hate her. So part of her latest album is her dealing with so many people not believing in her and thinking she's a bad person and making it difficult for her to have a normal relationship, and the other part is about letting go of all that and finding happiness with her new boyfriend.
