It was this performance right here that made me love Taylor Swift...she was so comfortable on that stage singing a song that belongs to the king of Country music, I would think it would have had to of been nerve racking yet she doesn't seem nervous at all. And George looks at her like he is so proud of her, he always does. That was the day I decided to actually listen to some of her music and now I just adore her. Taylor's love for what she does makes me love what she does too.

People knock her music all the time. IMHO she is one of the few recent artists that actually sings from the heart. Singing from the heart, and that alone, is what defines the good country music. The music that is produced this way has substance. If Taylor Swift did one thing she stuck to her guns and sang from the heart (just like George Strait). I agree with your perception of how he looked at her. Definitely proud.

Tyson Caldwell People do knock her music all the time. I believe that music is a very personal thing for each of us though, some people don't care for her style of music and that in itself is fine, we all have our own taste for what we like and don't like. We are individuals and our differences make us unique. It's the bashing that I have a problem with. There is no excuse for how mean people get. I am just really glad that I am not the kind of person who gets off on being mean to others. It's really too bad that they cannot see how it makes them look.

I can't get over how good this performance is-there are other covers she does as well and they are all killer performances. I think these simple country songs let her voice shine. Her own songs tend to be incredibly complex verbally and melodicly and more difficult to sing.

Looks nice, very pleasant, seems very sincere. And I hear she write good songs too, and far be it for me to knock someone because they may not be a "great" singer, after all, some of the greatest song writers are not necessarily great singers. Most extreme case I can think of is Burt Bacharach, who can barely sing at all, but writes great songs. For Swift, she is better than Burt, but just a barely adequate singer--but I admit she has more to offer--obviously, than her barely adequate voice--far more. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND is why fans insist she DOES have a great voice, when she doesn't.
