This song cuts deep. I lost my dad to cancer March 7, 2017. He fought it for 4&1/2 years. He “beat it” twice. I knew the third time he was diagnosed was the beginning of saying “goodbye” to him. Eleven months later on February 8, 2018 my oldest sister was diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian cancer. We were so hopeful in the beginning, but the chemo didn’t work. So they put her on something different, and that didn’t work. Now she’s on her third type of chemo, but it’s gone to stage 4. It’s spread through her body. I just got back from taking care of her. My moms plane landed as mine was taking off. My mom is with her right now. When my mom comes home I’ll be leaving to take care of her again. I think I am going to have to stay out there with her long term. This song is so heeling for me, but it rips me apart at the same time. I hate cancer.

Wow. Im a 49-year old metal head. This is the first Taylor Swift song I could ever relate to. My wife went through stomach cancer, chemo, genetic testing that revealed is BRCA 1, and had a double mastectomy. She sent me this today and said "This is for you". There arent any songs written about us helping and walking with our loved ones going through cancer, because its not about us and it shouldnt be. But we are here and we try to stay strong to help our loved ones stay strong. Thank you Taylor Swift for giving a little voice to the spouses and partners of people going through things like cancer. the desperation in the last line ‘cause you have to’ hits me so hard. my sister passed away of complications with an absent pulmonary valve after countless surgeries and treatment back in 2014. (when i was younger i was told that, basically, you are born with four main valves to your heart. she was born with only three and that the surgeries would fix everything and that she would live to over 30 minimum and all would be well) in reality, she didn’t even quite make it to 3. but she was the happiest little girl ever. she played games with the nurses, did this adorable things where she would scoot on her bum as a form of transportation because she couldn’t seem to crawl, and just brightened everyone’s day with a simple smile. despite the fact that she was only three, we were extremely close. so when she passed (i was barely 11) i was devastated. this song really encapsulates the last year i had with her. thank you taylor ilysm. 💗

Such a tender song. I posted it on FB and dedicated it to my friend's 4 year old son who is going through brain cancer treatment as we speak. Wow This is an eye opening song My aunt had cancer twice I was at the doctors office with her the second time it was confirmed her cancer came back. I remember sitting in the chair while she was sitting on the exam table and I felt a million miles away from her and so helpless. She kind of whispered “I’m sorry” like it was her fault! I started crying and got on the table with her and held her while she sobbed. It wasn’t her fault, it wasn’t anyone’s fault but as people, we always want to blame someone or something for our pain or misfortunes. I’m happy to say she is alive and thriving. I just... I won’t ever forget that day, the feelings of hopelessness and fear and being unable to do something for someone I loved so so much. That she might not be a part of my life... my grandma was diagnosed with ALS (lugaric disease). its a fatal disease and she has 2 years to live. i always think about how she was a major part of my childhood. if it was sleepovers with my cousins at her house, her cutting my waffles, “grandmas chocolate milk”, or camping trips, i know it will hurt alot when she passes. each time i go over to visit her, major changes happen like her ability to talk is gone, and she cannot walk anymore. this song really makes me think about her, and i know i had the best days with her. i love you grandma, soon you’ll get better.

I heard this for the first time on the radio this morning while sitting in traffic and ugly cried so hard. My dad is battling stage 4 Neuroendocrine cancer (Which is a rare cancer, less than 200,000 cases a year in the US) Thank you so much for the video

@@Jazzer26 thank you love. I have 2 siblings. 1 wants nothing to do with him. The other that visits ever so often, and I try so hard to spend time as much as possible. We may disagree, but he's my dad. My mom gave birth to me but he also provided her with elements to do that. Ugh... The stories I could tell. I just love home and I'm not ready. I'm not even 30. He hasn't watched me graduate college yet.

This song hit me so hard most especially in my current situation. Last November 21, I fell from my bike and hit the sidewalk and use my left arm so that my head won't hit the road, so right now, I have a broken left arm and it was cemented. Due to this condition, there are lot of things I am unable to do and even on a simple taking a bath, I'm struggling. I'm living independently and my siblings lives on a different city with their family. I am currently single so everything I do is self service, cooking for my food, cleaning the house, with only my Right arm. What adds on my frustration is that the Doctor was too busy to tell me when will the thing on my arm will be removed. The hospital doesn't know anything as well, they tell me to talk to my Doctor, I can't ask for second opinion on a different hospital becauses the Doctor was too busy to answer the call from hospital staff. They always say try tomorrow, call tomorrow. I am honestly crying right now and wish that my head hit the road and die at that moment because I felt I am abandoned and forgotten. My friends doesn't visit me though they are aware of my current situation. I'm feeling alone in this battle. I try to talk to random stranger but they seem not interested to talk to me after knowing that I have injured left arm. This song gives me hope that one day I'll get better even though what I wanted right now is to die, I will get better 'cause I have to.

I had cancer too in 2021 and thank God I got better and kicked the cancer out because of God’s grace and my daughter’s love and caring for me. She spent all the time with me and she took me to the hospital and doctor’s appointments even when I was taking chemotherapy treatments. When my grandfather passed away, I was broken because he was like my best friend and I had promised him that the moment I become a doctor, he will be the first person to come inside with me but I didn’t happen. Unfortunately he fell sick n I never got to give him a proper goodbye since he had forgot all his grandkids n couldn’t recognize any of us. That night I cried a lot to sleep but my mom told me he’s now in a better place and finally with my grandmother who he always loved. If I could say anything to him I would just say I love you n miss u a lot Thanks a lot Taylor for reminding me of him everyday cause now when I look back, I smile at all the memories I spent with him

my mom passed away from stage four lung cancer in february. there’s a gaping hole in my heart and this honestly made me bawl my eyes out. i try not to comment emotional life stuff on videos, but i genuinely wanted to thank taylor. this is amazing.
