You missed some things in the video, but you completely get the message and I love your reaction! 💗 I love this song and the message is important. she is not saying ALL men are like this, just how toxic men get away with such things. And if a man had done just some of the power moves like she has,( her success, the apple music letter, making spotify change their rules, re-recording her music, helping music producers get more recognition/paid in the industry, calling out ticketmaster etc) they would 100% be "The Man", but because she is a successful woman she gets hate instead. An example. when Taylor said she wanted to buy her masters, the media and haters said "she should respect contacts, she is so desperate." After taylor had started re-recording, Kanye said he wanted to own his masters they said. "OMG he is so brave for talking about this, everybody should own their masters".... The album Lover is very popular and her most streamed album, but just because of "ME!" the album get weird hate from the fandom. I love the Lover album.
@suspiciousstar7547 Жыл бұрын
Correct. Even in the video, they show other men such as his employees just rolling their eyes at the toxic guy. She's calling out some men not all men because there is good and bad in every group of people.
@suspiciousstar7547 Жыл бұрын
People can say this song is hateful, but I'm glad some people out there truly understood what it means. It represents double standards between successful men and successful women from a woman's perspective. Heck, even in the video it goes to show that it's not towards all men, just men who are misogynistic and toxic to everybody (proven by the other men who roll their eyes at his antics).

@@Beautifulstars12 i don't think that was a clap back at Kardashian family.. since Scott is not a Kardashian by blood he was only married into the family... She could have chosen Rob Kardashian or former Bruce Jenner if she wanted to make statement against the Kardashians.. this is bigger than them it's a general view point if you will.

Also Ryan they DID put makeup on her mouth she had rubber lips, In the "behind the scenes" you can see her saying that she has "rubber lips and doesn't know what her mouth is doing" when they asked her to do something with the cigar, you can also notice it when she drinks from the bottle how weird it looks like for that same reason, so it was hilarious, they also had to teach her how to readjust her pants/underwear (like a man does) because for obvious reasons we as women have never had to readjust our pants/underwear like that, and again it was all hilarious, but I think that what you identify as her mouth could have been more of her teeth... her smile. for me, it was her left hand when she does the "christ on the cross" pose, any time she does that pose you can see her index finger going a little further than the rest of her finger so THAT was her giveaway for me. if you guys get the chance to watch that behind the scenes I think you'll get a laugh out of it.

I loved this album, in fact, it's my 2nd favorite album with Speak Now ahead. I'm glad you guys accepts the message of the song. I think it's an important message but is largely ignored because people hate change. 🤔So Ryan, you better not watch the Era's Tour videos coz you might get a heart attack from Taylor's (I say this as a straight woman appreciating a beautiful & hot woman, lol) erm, "hotness", lol.

I absolutely agree with your first comment Ryan 😂 there isn't anything wrong with saying that someone is good looking/hot/beautiful/etc. It's only a problem if this is the only thing someone has to say about that person. You have always been very thoughtful and considerate of her music and artistry. Swifties get too riled up over super small things. Also, somebody's feminism has to be super fragile if they don't understand that it is fully okay to find women attractive. Context matters 🤷♀️

People shit on Lover and 1989 because they're both very much pop and modern. They're what Taylor call her "glitter pen albums". They're personally my favorite albums *because* they're pop and pop is my favorite genre and the lyrics are still GORGEOUS. .

1. Nathan, I love you. Well, I love your rant and where it comes from, but you get it (so does my boyfriend, it´s one of the reasons I love him too). 2. Ryan, the best songs (for me, this is about tastes) in Lover (album) are Cruel Summer and The Archer (track 5), but they don´t have videos. She played The Archer in a 'Live from Paris' and Cruel Summer had to wait until the Eras tour (a few days ago in Erazona/Arizona). A few days ago she releases a "from the vault" track from Lover called "All the girls you loved". You might like that one too.

😂😂😂 Ryan, I really think you'd enjoy English Teacher KP's reactions! It's just it's own kind of thing. She does literary analysis of the lyrics as one would teach any poem in class. She's also about Taylor's age and grew up with her music, so she is really well versed in Swiftiedom, and often can tease out the connections between lyric and life. She also does all of the idioms, figures of speech, and literary allusions to other fiction. I watch your reactions for different insights. And I enjoy watching you experience so much of the content as people comparitively unfamiliar with the content. So I don't think of you and English Teacher KP as competition, just augmenting points of view 😁

Hi i want to say that Lover the album yes it`s not a fav for some for the fact that it took a path that the fans wasn`t to keen about. they wanted another reputation 2.0. Still it is the hightest charting album for Taylor beside 1989 and midnights. i Love the album more because Taylor was so in love with it. she made the album of how she feels she was so in Love with Joe it was show us her feelings at the time. Pls check out the NPR tiny desk concert she made I believe the fall of 2019 it has three songs from the album and of course All To Well short version.
@jaylynn8630 Жыл бұрын
If you're wondering why a lot of people don't like the album very much, it's because a lot of the songs on it are very "fluffy" or "glitter gel pen". Cute, and fun, but not a lot of substance. And a lot of her fans, as you know, are very into the deep, poetic meanings and lyrical analysis, and so an album that is mostly full of fun bops is very much not their vibe - seriously, Lover is pretty much total bops from start to finish. And just some people who straight up dislike the sugary pop style that almost every song on the album has, regardless of how good the lyrics are or aren't. Also, two of Lover's singles are what a lot of Taylor Swift fans would call some of her worst songs ever - Me! and You Need to Calm Down - which really poisons the well of fan opinions, so to speak. The whole album got a little bit tainted by association, IMO. There definitely ARE songs on Lover that are every bit as meaningful as any song from another album, probably like 1/3-1/2 of them, more than most people give it credit for. And I'd say the two you've heard are part of the group of songs that have more substance to them, so to speak. What pretty much everyone will agree on is that it has one of the strongest bridges she's ever written, in the song Death By a Thousand Cuts. Personally, I have to be in the right mood for a lot of the songs on Lover, but some of the other ones are among my favorite Taylor Swift songs. It's a very mixed bag, for me. Ryan, I think you actually would really love this whole album, because you seem happy to enjoy a song on pure vibes, and also are a fan of straight up pop music, and 90% of this album falls squarely into both categories!

I'm a Swiftie and Lover is definitely one of my top favorite albums of mine from her. I love how it's upbeat and bubbly like 1989 but has lyrics similar to Reputation and Red. Don't get why a lot of people see this album as mediocre or bad.

Also, you have to understand that when we say “Lover is not the best album” we don’t mean that it’s bad (it’s a Taylor Swift album, it could never be bad) it’s just not as good as her other works.

once again nathan being a clown. Couldnt tell if he was being serious about the zayn slander but honestly i should have seen it coming. I know he was using it as an example to try to prove his point but there isnt much or any evidence of zayn treating people like trash. I have seen countless videos of zayn getting harrased by celebrties( jake paul ), piers morgan and getting attacked outside of a bar for being a "homosexual", Yolando not respecting his privacy and so on if anything zayn is the one being treated like trash.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Nathan, you had me on the Kanye stuff. But maybe look a little more into the Harry Styles of it all if that's who you were referring to out of 1D. They're very cordial now. She even later admitted to making the same mistake he did and having a better understanding of it. And she even said he owned up to his mistake the exact moment that she asked him about it. As for Ryan, dude... it's 2023. Let's stop making people a decade younger than you feel uncomfy by calling them sexy and whatnot. It's friggin weird dude.
