Im 53 yo, and as many of you, I grew up listening to abundant and very nice music and performers of the good old 80´s and 90´s... Taylor Swift is IMHO one of the very few modern performers that inherits and continues the trajectory of that good music, also adding her own particular and evolving style, and undisputable beauty.

Trying to understand this Taylor Swift phenomenon, I listened to this song 4 times. She’s very pretty, she has a wonderful voice, it’s an amazing performance - but there’s no song stuck in my head. She can inspire a variety of positive changes, which will make the world a better place. Musically, give her some time and she might just evolve the way the Beatles did.

I played two Taylor Swift songs and two songs she covered - Drops of Jupiter and Fire and Rain. Nobody recognized Lover as an instrumental song - it sounded like I was just playing chords. By comparison, people stopped in their tracks by the second chord for Drops of Jupiter. This isn’t the first time that lyrics have been more important than the music - Bob Dylan made a career out of it, and Taylor is a lot easier to look at.
