I think one of the main reasons she is still around is because of her song writing and relatability factor of it. I mean I’ve been listing to her music since her fearless era. PS: I would stick around if you decided to venture into different artists.

Yes! The relatability and the interest people have in her as a person. We got to know her through the songs and she made a huge effort at the beginning of her career to build a connection with the fanbase which I think has served her well. And the fact she can write songs, which - the rest of it wouldn't have translated into a 15 year long career if she couldn't, I guess. And she's also good at the business stuff.

I totally get the friend thing. I was trained as a crisis advocate, so I'm painfully aware how we respond to things lol I started saying that I want support rather than advice or problem solving. And asking the same thing for a friend when they share. It's a boundary that a loved one should respect and it makes communication so much smoother

I relate to this song cause I had a short fling during a study abroad. (very unlike me haha) I never allowed myself to have the connection where you know it won't work out before out of fear, so it was a needed lesson in vulnerability and allowing myself to open up. Even if these emotions won't be in the permanent future, sharing those emotions is powerful and I treasure the memories

Thanks for these comments! It's a recent thing of mine to have this understanding that I don't want the advice as much as I just want the support and maybe the understanding. I like the way you put it, it was very simply and accurately expressed in your comment and I feel that I may understand this new preference of mine better for having read it. Thank you very much for that!

Interesting, so what is the takeaway here? That you should sometimes open up, even if the outcome is pretty certain to not go anywhere long-term because the experience is still worth it? It's a great thing if you have this sort of thing without the bad. Wouldn't life be easy if you could just have all the good without the bad? All the pleasure without the pain? Ha...
@megimihaylova983 жыл бұрын
@@JSteezyyeah, life would be a hell of a lot easier if we could have good/pleasure without the bad. Idk if we'd appreciate the good enough if we didn't have the bad as reference though

@@megimihaylova98 Life and we would probably lack perspective without the balance. Maybe you actually can't have the good without the bad because there would be no point of reference. We wouldn't know what light was without darkness. Wouldn't know wet without dry. Opposites are important.

I think your right l, they do burn out quickly. Because we agree the same ol popy songs do get annoying. What people want are lyrics! Good smart relatable songs. I’m done settling for just another pop song with no context! That’s where Taylor comes in.

I feel this. I think really amazing songs often demand more attention though and it's hard to get a song to be so popular when it is so dense with wonderful lyrics or storytelling. But I suppose the best of the best songs can blend both really well and grab your attention either way. But I am very tired of pop songs with super lazy and meaningless lyrics and a super repetitive chorus with the sentence structure of a pre-schooler just to maximize international potential. Ugh...just make good music please.

Streaming and the internet is kind of a double-edged sword. Easy come, easy go. I love the guitar part in this. It's super evocative. For me, it's the "what if" that really get me - would the situationship evolve into something new and something more if the circumstances were different? Or did it used to be more, and you just can't fully let go of the relationship? (For me I feel the latter, but either interpretation works imo!)

I would watch other artist reactions too. I think it's fun that it's not your normal music so I would say keep up with Taylor but if you tried other pop artists I'd be down for most of them. Maybe Phoebe Bridgers, Caroline Polachek, Billie Eilish, Halsey, HAIM, etc.

Don't worry, you have a while before you run out of Taylor content...IF you choose to go down that rabbit hole. 😂🐇

He pretends really well to not be fond of her talent and no one knows why :)

lol what! Is that what is going on? Hmm, I think my reactions might be a little mild sometimes but I'm not overly reactive. Also, I kind of expect talent at her level. So in some ways, I'm not super surprised. I'm really grateful to know about this work because these two albums are exactly the kind of thing I wish more talented and famous artists did but it's so often just not the kind of work that mainstream radio and major record labels have much interest in. This is some real art right here, in my opinion of course. How's that for an answer? Am I not fangirling enough still? haha lmk :D
