Watching ppl discover Chris Stapleton is really amusing lol. You don't have to be a music critic or a professional to know immediately what your hearing. It doesn't take long to figure out your hearing someone who our kids will he listening too. As you can see, watching him live is a must. Ppl will request all of the correct songs. As someone said, Amanda live, you can see Morgan more. Someone dropped a link for You are my Sunshine where she is the lead. With all do respect to Morgan, whatever it is about Chris's voice, any female voice blends perfectly with his. He has done so many songs or performances with other artist and they all end up sounding amazing. Lots. Of artist are waiting in line to work with Chris because he is so so hot in the business and everything he does is a hit. The Sometimes bI Cry at the Binge lounge is amazing but I think Barely Alive acoustic may be his best vocal or pushes the limits of his vocals ..it will blow your hair back.

If you're just starting with country, here are a couple to try ... Craig Morgan, "The Father, My Son and The Holy Ghost." He wrote it after his 19 year old son died in a boating accident. Also give "I Believe," by Brooks and Dunn a listen for older country. Or "Concrete Angel," by Martina McBride. Another older song, they're all beautiful, but emotional. Brad Paisley/ Allison Krause, Whiskey Lullaby. I Hope You Dance /Lee Ann Womack, God, We Need You Now, Struggle Jennings/ Caitlynne Curtis. This song is a must for any reason, but the lyrics are for today. Every person should listen and watch that video. Its mostly about child smuggling/ Sex Trafficking. The lyrics are a must must read. The women and Caitlynne have strings tied to their hands like they are puppets . I'll give you an example; 'Oh one day, I hope you see the truth, this puppet show stays on because of you fools,/ We've been dancing with the devil way to long, I know its fun, but get ready to pay your dues: "Oh God come back now!/ This crazy world is filled with liars and abusers...... it reminds me of the singer song/ writers of the 70s . The protests songs about the Viet Nam Conflict ( they never called it a war, because they never declared it as a "war", 50,000 men died), and because it wasn't a declared war, the Pentagon never fully gave our troops the support and or the correct weapons to fight it. Never mind ,lol, if you want a history lesson, this isnt the platform. Anyway, this song reminds me of those kind of songs.

Great reaction. Chris Stapleton is flat out the best singer on earth. So many incredible songs. I could listen to him all day (and have many times!). The live versions of "Whiskey and You" and "Either Way" are amazing. "Drink a Beer" is my personal favorite. Powerful song, and not at all what the title suggests it will be like. Also the live version of "Amanda" with his wife really shows off how good she is.

He was also in a bluegrass band called The Steeldrivers and yeeaaars ago they played a FREE concert in my neighborhood (just outside of Nashville). They were amazing and the only concert where I walked up to the front at the end and bought the CDs they were selling. He's a massive talent and has written a ton of hits for other people. You might enjoy seeing him sing Tennessee Whiskey with Justin Timberlake live at the CMA awards in 2015. They actually do two songs back to back the second being Justin's "Drink You Away". Its an amazing live performance. Try "Sometimes I Cry" live @ the Bing lounge too.....

I still have my single 45 vinyl RPM from 1981of the original recording of this song by David Allen Coe and the 45 RPM of George Jones's cover in 1983 which was written by dean Dillon who offered it first to George Strait who turned it down. The song just never hit the charts big time until Chris Stapleton's cover in 2015. I think mainly because of the bluesey rendition which reached a more diverse audience other than just Country music. of course thats just my opinion.
