That was an absolute gem need more of them plus the fact you said he could use two different shaft. soft for days he isn’t feeling it was magic With today’s average player they should look at different possibly softer shafts that gains them launch and distance Please make more like this

Yo Trott - Great video bud! Gore is reluctant to modernize his driver. Reminds of Tiger, of old. They are the same generation, after all. The lower spin balls and heads have changed everything, so have to change with the times or else you're just giving your competitors free strokes on the first tee.

Completely agree with the mental visual apex height issue from days gone by. Back in the day I always struggled with too much height off the driver, which was coupled with lots of spin. Coming back to the game 20 years later I was trying to get an apex of around 100ft, but didn't appreciate with new tech you can flight at 120-30 with a spin profile that won't compromise, even into wind.

Great video, so interesting. Gore is a unit but has a very smooth swing. Which Iam glad about because in his prime he ripped it so hard and so far, no wonder he has had surgery. I don't think I have seen many people that extends the index finger on their right hand that much, it's odd to look at.

Love these. Us golfers are all head cases. We know what’s best for us but sometimes cannot commit to it. It’s just Jason’s good enough to compensate and still play well but the average golfer needs to give up what they like to see or take the ego out and go by the numbers.

Big fan of Jason Gore. Hope to see him on TV playing great golf. I am getting fit on Sunday for a SIM 2 driver. I will be hitting range balls outside. Should I hit 3-5 good balls to insure the driver is giving me the right spin? I play a grip that weighs 57 grams. Should I be concerned with the grip that I am using during the demo if it is lighter? This was a great video! Thanks!

What confused me a little bit about this fitting, was the landing angle. You've talked about wanting to see this type of speed at about a 38* land angle. That's where Jason was when his spin was down closer to 2000, with the higher launch angle you want to see him with. When his spin got into the mid 2000's his land angle was about 42*
@trottiegolf
@trottiegolf 2 жыл бұрын
38* on hard fairway conditions, he would have been carrying it further with more spin on the ball.

Hi Trottie, which launch monitor do you prefer using TrackMan or Foresight GC Quad for fitting? Is one better for outdoor and one better for indoor? I see a lot of pros now using both on the range at the same time, why would they do that? Thanks
@trottiegolf
@trottiegolf 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes they one calibrated to the clubhead and the other studying the ball numbers, other times it's a comparison. Honestly both monitors are great, indoor is tough as seeing ball flight is always key. Personal preference and habit but personally I like TrackMan but its more habit and an honest answer opposed to maybe a fair one.

Whats a good dynamic loft for a 7 iron?
@wallstreetoneil
@wallstreetoneil 3 жыл бұрын
34-degree 7-iron with 10-degrees forward shaft lean but with 3 degrees forward shaft deflection at impact equals 27-degrees. Hitting down on ball by 3-degrees = 24-degrees - down by 5-degrees = 22-degrees. The launch will be pulled down another 5-degrees by the friction of the face on the ball so launch = 17-19 degrees. I made this all up but it's basically correct. Pro-impact with short irons is 10-15 degrees forward shaft lean & 2-6 degrees down. Forward shaft deflection at impact is a complete guess but it's ballpark for sure. Friction is a complete guess but it's my approximation looking at launch monitors. I stand to be corrected on any or all of the above - but taken all together, you will end up in a similar spot. I play a 32-degree 7-iron, launch 19-20, 120 ball-speed, 6000 spin - put that in an online launch monitor and I get my 170-175 carry range - so it all jells

Be fun if Jason just played a few rounds with his normal driver, lower trajectory ball 1 from that spot...then walked 20 yards further along the line of flight and played ball 2 from the forward position...see howbhis scores vary....if he consistently scores lower from the 20 yard forward balls then maybe worth revamping his swing and opinion re. Old school flight....he would see the benefit of that period of discomfort required to get a more Rory-like flight.

Starts at 5 Left and 2 down and peels a low 272 carry spinner into the fairway. If I'm caddying for you, I need to see if you can hit 'that' shot (2up, neutral path, 13 launch, 2200 spin, 110-120 height, 285 carry), otherwise, we're not making money.
