I love how Nelly was so comfortable with these guys, because I remember not too long ago when she met Tiger for the first time and wanted a pic with him, and she was so shy like a schoolgirl to go up to him and ask him for it. Now she's just hanging with him and Rory like she's one of the gang. I also love seeing them compare their setups and strategies for hitting drives. I think they all took something away; Nelly learned how to sky one really high, and I'd love to see her use that in a tournament. And, the fact that she's SO good and can't hit a fade is absolutely crazy. Imagine her game if she could add that shot to her bag. Great stuff here.

@TheWedgeWizard6 ай бұрын
Many slicers could learn from Nelly, getting the ball too far forward sets you up for a fade bias swing path. Many people think it helps a slice because the face might be more closed more forward but it’s the cutting across it left (for a righty) swing path that’s causing a majority of peoples slices. The further back, the more from the inside the path & vice versa. Just a ball or 2’s width back is all you need to mellow out a slices.
@outlander2346 ай бұрын
You couldnt be more right. And ball position is least talked about in all the instruction videos where they always talk about takeaways, swing planes etc. If you keep hitting a slice or a hook it means, as you said just shift the ball around until you find what corrects your ball flight.
@dsc-nr5zy6 ай бұрын
I kind of agree, but with driver or woods on a tee, it's different. You can aim right, tee it way up and forward, and if the face is closed to path AND you hit up (which is much easier because of the extra time), you kind of hit a high pull draw that is basically a straight draw due to the rightward aim. I think slicers just need to get their clubface sorted more than anything, then they are able to actually hit with spin that is conducive to moving further out to a push start line.
@bvokey88426 ай бұрын
What’s more important for me is to not have too strong a right hand. Neutral to weak. And pairing that with a strong left hand. That helps prevent my right hand from rotating clockwise during my swing which opens the clubface. And if my wrist is opening the clubface, it doesn’t make much of a difference where the ball is positioned, around lead foot or further back, it will still start straight and then take a hard right. This is the grip Rory uses and coincidentally what Nelly also uses in this video.
