Hi Taylor! I loved making this pattern. I made a dark grey mobius for my sister and she is amazed by it and loves it. She says it is so cozy. I couldn't find the Jean's yarn so I used Lion Brand Heartland and I think it is a little bit thicker but still draped well. I began with a chainless double crochet then twisted and joined to work in the round. Row 2, I went straight into the dancing double crochet (I enjoyed the stitch so much 😊). The band in the middle almost disappeared and I liked that look alot. The mini bead bobble stitch on the collar really brought the work close in slightly tighter as you taught and looks so great and finishes the work off with such nice detail. You're instructions are perfect, your voice is soothing and your design is beautiful. I just wanted to thank you! I felt blessed to gift my sister such a beautiful and functional shawl she will treasure! Thank you! Candia

Love this pattern. At the end of each Dancing Stitch row, do you skip the last stitch in the row before ss, ch 2, ds beginning in SAME stitch as ch 2? I seem to be adding a stitch with every row, but it isn’t due to NOT beginning in the same st as the ch 2. I’m using st markers and each row’s marker is to the left of the previous, indicating I’ve added a st. Hmmmm. Thanx!

In row 19 the pattern reads pull through 7 stitches but for row 21 and following bead bobble rows the pattern reads pull through 5 stitches. Typo?

In the hopes you see this...I started making it for the larger size but the loop seems very big. I am using a size 5 yarn, should I undo it and start with a smaller loop? Should the loop sit on your shoulders with a slight drape? Mine is like a hula hoop! Thanks for any help, love the video!
@TaylorOBrien3 жыл бұрын
I believe if you are using a heavier weight yarn, you will need less starting chains. And yes, I do let mine sit on my shoulders at times if I want more coverage! But with that said, if I do the starting chain tight enough, it will fit comfortably around my arms and chest and then the very top will just kind of drape and roll over. I would measure the circumference around your chest and upper arm area and chain that many and then slide it over you to see if it is too tight or too loose. I think having it on the tighter side would be good since yarn tends to stretch over time! I hope this helps! 🙏✨🧶

If I started with a chainless DC foundation instead of a regular chain & DC row 1, would that stop the noticable starting chain in the middle do you think? I prefer the chainless foundation way of starting anyway but thought it might possibly stop the "pull in" tightness you often get with a starting/foundation chain being it's stretchier. I'm still learning, so what is ur opinion? 🙂
@TaylorOBrien2 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question! I imagine it'll have a bit more stretch that a regular chain but I do think it would look nice without the seam! Let me know if you try it out and what ya think! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! 🙏♥️
@Aeremaee3 жыл бұрын
The 'width when laid flat', does that mean that the starting chain should measure 18" or that the slip stitched starting chain (so laid double) should measure 18"? I did a gauge swatch and recalculated, but it doesn't seem to match up at all with the measurement for the flat shawl. Thank you for the pattern and for the help should you see this!
@TaylorOBrien3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Sorry for the confusion! So after the chain is made and connected with the slip stitch, if you laid it flat it should measure somewhere around 18" from left to right. If you were to measure this by circumference it would be about 36" around. Tension when chaining can also change the measurement slightly and this will stretch once worn. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions and if you like this pattern please consider sharing it to FB or Pinterest or with fellow crocheters who might enjoy it 🙏🧶✨ Thank you for trying this out! The instructions for row 2 thru 17 of the dancing stitch is actually 34 rows, in total?
@meicallum55823 ай бұрын
I'm on row 5 and always seem to be just one stitch short at the end of each round, does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I'm starting the first dancing stitch in the same stich as my chain 2, so I'm kinda stumped. I just keep doing an increase basically at the end of each round to compensate and it seems to be looking okay at least. ❤

When you are county rows, is it each row? Or is it every other row that you count?
@TaylorOBrien3 жыл бұрын
One full row will be from the starting chain to when you slip stitch at the very end to close the row. Because it is a figure 8 shape, you are actually crocheting a row on top and bottom in one row. I hope this helps! If not, let me know and I’ll try to explain in a different way!🧶♥️
