You could also duck in next door to the SQ lounge as same alliance - coffee in Air NZ lounge and food in SQ is a winner

I did this when I flew SQ to SIN in J, and preferred Air NZ for the coffee exactly as you've written! Might duck into the SQ lounge next week to check out the food offering... 😬

Great review nice to see other flying options. Would be interested in how you felt after second flight into Rome as far as jet lag as I think you landed about 7pm so while it was a 13 hour flight it would have been mostly daylight hours.
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy6 ай бұрын
Thanks Brad! I was really good with jet lag once in Europe. They were both daytime flights over, so that helped and I think breaking the flight up with the stopover helped a little too.

I've never heard of Asiana! I travelled with Emirates to Italy this time last year, sadly it was in cattle class. One day I'll enjoy Business Class (maybe). In Asian culture, the number 4 is considered unlucky which is probably why the floor was named F. I don't know why they don't just skip the number entirely.

I used to live on level 4 in an apartment block in Asia and the elevator had 3A on the button
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy6 ай бұрын
I literally wondered why they didn't just call it 3A... or maybe my room should have been F27 instead of 427...
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy6 ай бұрын
I hadn't really heard much about Asiana either, well, until I started looking at flight options to Europe and saw that they were consistently cheaper than the others! They probably should have just skipped 4... or maybe written my room number as F27 and not 427...!
@gregg11526 ай бұрын
Four sounds like the word for ‘death’ in Mandarin, but mustn’t sound so morbid when lumped with other numbers, ie 427

Is it possible to connect your Earphones to the entertainment system on Asiana? I Prefer in-ears to actual headphones

Aside from showering between longhaul flights - what did you do to keep well / healthy during 50 hours of flying?!!! (and what were the business class bathrooms like?)
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy6 ай бұрын
The bathrooms were basically stock standard, but included a few amenities: dental kits, shaving kits and lotion. I didn't do much! There weren't many options onboard. The occasional get up and walk around while onboard.

Watch out Josh, Noel, Jeb, Jayden and Dan! 😛 If you know, you know. Shame Asiana is merging with Korean. You know how I feel about bibimbap. Not knowing where I was staying for the layover would put me off.

haha! With a few hundred-thousand views less... but I'm honoured to even be mentioned in their company. Thank you. Abnormally for me, I went with the flow when it came to the STPC. Believe me, not my style at all... somehow I just managed to "see what happened" and thankfully it all worked out. Apart from the elevator. F.

So the chap who wants you to book travel with him didn't use an agent himself but booked direct online. Isn't that going against what all we agents want people to do? I recently flew overseas but did all my arrangements through my agency, as I ask my clients to do
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy6 ай бұрын
I enjoy saving money where possible and the reality was that the price I found going direct undercut anything that was available via an agency, either net or wholesale. I imagine, as an agent, you've encountered similar situations in the past.
@zaarpoool6 ай бұрын
@@TheCruiseandTravelGuy Too often. Airlines say they cannot afford to pay agent commission but then offer 10% off to people who book direct. No wonder we all want to book cruises where a reasonable return is still paid for our hard work. And as a veteran of 97 cruises so far I do enjoy your reviews even if I don't always agree totally.

Asiana seoul to seattle business class did not impress for two reasons: 1. They dont provide a comforter to sleep? Really so cheap? 2. Food is totally rushed, not served with love and care and crew shortly after completely disappears The food is good and service is good for the most part. Young flight attendants are hard working and eager whereas the purser and older attendants are mean rude and lazy.
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy2 ай бұрын
That doesn’t sound very good. Meal service on my flights was always a pleasure, especially compared to a recent flight with ANA and even Singapore Airlines. Thanks for watching.
