I think it's his inability to adapt his riding style. Basically, to be uncomfortable beyond his riding style to extract performance wherever it may be for a particular bike. Granted all bikes will have their strong points and weak points but based off the flashes he's shown in the past he should be able to adapt in areas to find gains but he's unwilling to do so. Either the bike immediately fits his preferred riding style or else it's garbage in his eyes. I mean Star has to be the next viable option over a Honda which he won't be going back to so long as the Lawrence brothers are there. And it seems the Star 450 guys are pulling the performance from their bikes to be competitive. Question is now, is he regretting leaving the Honda and nothing else will suffice but he knows it will likely never ever be an option for him again?

I think he detested not being on a team where the spotlight is on him because we all know that is part of the reason he left Honda because at this point you can’t blame the bike especially when the person next to you under the same tent isn’t having the problems you’re having. I’m sure obviously it comes down to $$$ as well.

Let’s hope he goes to Ducati. We want him for MXON. Kawasaki won’t let any of their riders go. We need the top Americans to have the opportunity to go if they want.

100% yes to Chase likely going Kawi. when we heard of his plan to go with KTM it was easy to predict it would go horribly. especially with Webb just having failed in SX for two years on the KTM, plus the fact that Chase was on Honda his whole career. i always thought Sexton's style suited a Kawi and was saying that even getting on a privateer Kawi team like Masterpool did would have been way better than factory KTM in this case. Ty was making 450 top 5's in MX on a near stock bike. had Chase proven what he could do on a privateer bike, he would be signed-on now instead of Prado. did not know Kawi was dropping JA at the end of 2025. is that official?

Not to say that some bikes have some level of issues but why does it seem Sexton always blames the bikes? So are the bikes truly not rideable or is Sexton just incapable of adapting because it's not the "feel" he wants or prefers? I mean clearly other riders are making them work, maybe not as well as say the Hondas but could that be partly due to the bike and partly due to their own inabilities? It just gives the appearance nothing is good enough and its always the bike or teams to blame. It just looks bad on him I think especially considering when he was on a Honda he had issues as well. Its like hes looking for greener pastures or some magical bike to elevate him past Jett and Hunter.

wait a minute... remember how much better Kenny did overseas on that Firepower Honda? how the linkage he wanted fixed his whoops issue... what if Chase goes with them?! he would have the new Honda chassis and likely do really well on it. it would be easy to adapt and get going sooner than at Kawi. he would need to humble himself to not be on a factory team. but the way things have gone at KTM he aught to know by now that money and prestige cannot easily produce a bike that handles whoops. and we would get to find out how much better the Honda is or is not, depending on how often he tucks the front.
