Pumili ka!" at "Paano ninyo nasisigurong pag-usapan ang negosyo kung mga alipin tayo sa sarili nating Bayan?" at mostly is yung "Kapwa Pilipino din ang papatay sa Pilipino" hits different to me lalo na ngayong henerasyon.General Luna was one of the best historical movies I've ever seen in Filipino film industry, it gave me new sightings about patriotism to our country. The movie expressed the autobiography of Antonio Luna during the Philippine-American war, which he fought bravely and whole heartedly for his country's freedom. But there's a conflict within the Filipino leaders that leads up to the betrayal and death of General Luna. This portrays how Filipino leaders sometimes put up their self-interest first over their country. And also, a big thanks to the characters who portrayed their characters very professionally. And a special thanks to TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Production, and Global Studios for the wonderful creation of this movie.

I remember I was in college when this was released, and we were encouraged to watch it since they gave a student discount in this movie. I kinda forget the whole storyline, but I will never forget how I felt that after I watched this. Everyone in the cinema was stunned silent and gave a round of applause at the end of it. It was disappointing that some cinemas didn't release it (due to profit I guess). It is very rare for philippine cinematography to have such great quality as this.👌 Releasing the full movie here in youtube is very generous for the Studio. For Jerrold Tarog and his team, thank you so much, I will be rewatching this.

Agreed! Though, this was released when I was in Grade 5. Most of the sexual scenes had to be skipped, but hilariously not the gorey ones. I remember when me and my classmates just sat in front of our teacher's computer, watching the movie. Even if it was for school, it was still a fun watch and one of the best childhood memories I'll ever have. Glad to see I'm not the only one here who's still rewatching this masterpiece after several years! :D

I've watched a LOT of K-Dramas and I always wonder how does it feel watching your old country. Whether its '90s, early 1900's, 1800's or even LONGER than that range. GMA already did a series with 'history, tradition & culture of the Philippines' but it was just a 'highlight', the series didn't focus to such genre. Series: My Love From The Star, Philippine Adaptation. (oh, 'di pa talaga masasabing ATIN.)

General Luna was one of the best historical movies I’ve ever seen in Filipino film industry, it gave me new sightings about patriotism to our country. The movie expressed the autobiography of Antonio Luna during the Philippine-American war, which he fought bravely and whole heartedly for his country’s freedom. But there’s a conflict within the Filipino leaders that leads up to the betrayal and death of General Luna. This portrays how Filipino leaders sometimes put up their self-interest first over their country. And also, a big thanks to the characters who portrayed their characters very professionally. And a special thanks to TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Production, and Global Studios for the wonderful creation of this movie.

Like the much vaunted chain of Belgian forts of very modern design and the French Maginot line of fortifications which the Germans either efficiently attacked and destroyed (Belgian forts) or made irrelevant (French Maginot line) in WW2, static positions can be attacked and degraded or isolated, starved out then destroyed or isolated and made irrelevant. What good would an isolated and starving fortress do if the rest of the country had fallen under foreign control. Moreover, the Philippines then did not have a well-trained army (at the footsoldier level, at the non-commissioned officer level and the leadership level). Most generals had titles but no matching skills. Those take time to develop Then we did not have the equipment needed to do battle on even roughly equal terms. Plus we did not have a developed logistical base for supporting the waging of modern war. Not even modern guerilla war, As it turned out. Finally we were not all imbued with a strong sense of being one nation. Instead we were still regionalistic. So the Americans easily split us apart. Remember the Caviteno Aguinaldo was captured by Filipinos from Pampanga dressed as revolutionary soldiers, led by a very few American officers. Gregorio Del Pilar's stand at Tirad was ended by Americans who were led around the Pass by a Filipino from the Cordillera. They picked off Del Pilar and his little band from behind. There were many Filipinos who were highly motivated. But wars are not won only on inspiration . You also need trained, disciplined troops with good leadership and effective strategies. Our people were up against a much more organized, trained and experienced army that had learned to fight in relatively modern ways during the USA Civil War of the 1860s and which had successfully fought the guerillas of the native Indian tribes, chasing them down and killing off most of them between 1865 and 1900.

This movie is one of the greatest Filipino Films ever made that I've watched amongst others, it really helps educationally for those students or people that does have less knowledge about the history of the great General. This movie should be watch by everybody it means a lot, you will not just learn but also understand the reason why Philippines lost the war against the Americans and killed it's capable General during the war.
