My quad canopies are similar to the JS1 i.e. everything is covered and protected - so binding without having to take the canopy off and press the bind button makes things soooooooo much easier

Are .. you .. freaking .. kidding me! Thank You Soo Much!! I'm stupid. Spend the last 2 hours installing tbs starterkit. 1st rx went fine through agentx, updating and all. 2nd one did not. Read the manual 3 times, checked wiring but I kept getting stuck at "Receiver needs a update, confirmation on the tx is required" ...somehow I couldn't figure out to push that button again 🤦🏻‍♂️ Best thing, is I went to bed and checked my phone a last time, and saw this upload. ... Yeah...so I'm back at my workbench with a cup of tea, in the middle of the night, ready to make that second bind/update/conformation click on the module. If I was ever thankful to you, it is now. 🙏

Omg, enjoy. After futzing with FrSky for so long, stuff like binding working in a sane way makes it entirely worth it all by itself. The other benefits are just icing on the cake.

@@AdamKouse omg don't get me started with frsky.. hated firmware updates. New firmware doesn't work on old.. then I saw r9m lite pro and r9mm ota. Over the air. Access no bind button to bind. So I buy it.. and guess what. First step press bind button before binding without pressing a button. 🤦‍♂️ Then ota doesn't update firmware if ur on different firmware so u can't bind. I need to suck it up and switch to crossfire. Just changing receiver in every drone. I already had to get betafpv transmitter to bind to tinyhawk and xm on old v1 ugh. Sorry for the rant

I just go to tbs agent and plug my frsky module via usb and see whats going on I find this easier. JB did you and trappy kiss and make up you seem to have a lot of TBS vids now which is good to see.

Mine did not work this way, but updating Micro tx V2 first and then through Agent X bind buttom worked. Im using Jumper T16.

Speaking of binding I seem to have an issue with the nano RX occasionally I've had to do it to me now where they just will not bind where they were working fine before even tried the hold the button down, for the double flash, emergency bind I think it is? I don't know if someone correct me if I'm wrong but I have two basically worthless nano RX that I can't get to bind no matter what firmware or anything. Anyone got any tips?

My factory new receiver did not go in bind mode. I had to press the botton. But it was in the new HGLRC Sector D5. So I don't know if that counts.

Mine has both green lights but I never noticed it update but when I repower it goes back to a solid red, also my buzzer or whatever on my drone constantly beeps with or without battery. But doesn’t seem to stop with battery unless I hold the button

You can bind in tbs agent! Pushing the buttons, didn’t start the update on my rx. With the software it worked pretty easy

my rx get a red solid light after binding, every time i try to bind 😔 or both get in bind mode back and start flashing normaly green and wont bind together, judt flashing green

Unfortunately, didn't work on a CRSF Micro TX, and had to push the button on 4 different nano RX when upgrading TX from 6.13 to 6.17. Before pushing the button the RX was solid red, and when entering bind mode on TX the RX had a quick green blink and returned to red. Tried using the rear button on TX, Agent X (latest) and Agent M, and many power cycles. I wish there was a CLI "bind_crsf" command, or at least a power cycle scheme (like 3 quick power-ups or similar)

Seems like a previously bound rx that does not go into bind mode automatically when power is plugged into it you hold bind and plug in , let go and press and hold again for util something changes then let go of the button and try unplugging it and replugging it to go into blinking green bind mode . Maybe though tx upgrades might change this when updating rx ? So don't upgrade anyway . They might sneak a gps disarm ratchit jam in the program .

If the receiver is not new and not bound don’t you still have to hit bind on the Receiver? This works for me with a new nano Rx but not when I update my radio and quads with an existing rx in it. The next update for that module you’ll have to press the button and remind the quad...

Things change so fast in our hobby, so that book would get old to fast and just be a story about how we used to do things, just like the old vids from JB. The "science" that we apply under that would not change over time are already written about in books and JB has probably read those books himself ;)

My crossfire won't bind.. I'm not sure if it's because I have the Geprc baby Crocodile and it doesn't have a bind button (btw I'm assuming it doesn't only bcz i was told the button on the back of the quad is designed to only turn off the buzzer for locating the quad if lost). Or maybe bcz the tbs module is a used module (again I'm assuming it's used bcz I bought it off of Amazon cheaper than the actual price). .. I'm not sure what's going on I just know I can't bind and it's very frustrating.. I was hoping to get your help. 🙏🏾🙏🏾.. Whenever I go into configuration mode on my radiomaster tx16s and try to bind the two it just sits there in binding mode. It's not only until I hit the module button on back of the crossfire as you've displayed in this vid something happens. Although I get (binding ok) at that point all I see is the micro tx option but no nano tx option like so many of you said should happen after binding.. Again PLEASE HELP!!

Man, you're a lifesaver, as usual. My receiver WOULD NOT bind through the crossfire lua script, but it worked this way (after power cycling at the end of it all). FYI, this video doesn't rank highly on google for searches about crossfire receivers not binding. Maybe there's something you can do with keywords to boost it up; I wish I had found this video an hour ago. Thanks for your advice!

Hey bardwell also i use to have an receiver without the button couse it fell apart and if you need to use the bind button you can also select factory reset (power cycle) and it will disconnect from your Tx and then again you can use the autobind... since I know this I always conformal coat my entire nano receiver

No, not really. To change the bind to a totally different module requires a button push.

hi, im having issues. trying out your method. my controller tbs mambo has crossfire tx in it and i want to bind it to by caddx vista hd, or do it bind it to my goggles? i was able to bind the caddx to my dji goggle v2, i can see the video coming in. but i cant seem to bind my controller. i tried your video but nothing, its not binding ;((

You have to install a crossfire receiver. You can't bind the DJI vTX to crossfire.

What happens if it binds after update but blinks red and green. I see the rssi on the transmitter but the receiver blinks green and red

Is the same apply for V1 and lite version? Cuz I have this lite or full version with little display but thinking about selling it. I dont like the fact that I have to power it up from another power source. I know I can use sam battery from my radio but this will drain it much quicker

The Lite has a full menu that you can use to enter bind but the res tof hte process is the same.

Dear Joshua , I m having a binding problem with the BLACKSHEEP tiny whoop nano. (Later On I know that many people sharing the same problem) No matter how many attempt I did, the red LED still flashing slow; and not possible to bind ! It should flashing fast. Before ordering the TBS crossfire tracer, can you please till if the QX7 ACCESS can bind to the tiny whoop without using the FC bind button? Thanks in advance
