I imagine Viego managing to almost defeat Lucian, Senna and the whole crew and he is about to deal the final blow and flood the world in ruination he gets crushed by a magical meteorite. Everyone looks shocked and confused and then Veigar just pops-up and dances on Viego's ashes claiming that he defeated the evil undead king and now he is the ultimate evil, rightful king of the sheadow isles and so on

You travel to Noxus (or wherever is Veigar now), reach the village "controlled" by him and while near a castle just casually trigger some dialogue about the Ruined King and then you get the ending... maybe even some small easter eggs, little clues showing that Veigar is following you in secret

@@Nostroman_Praetor well, he is a yordle, their magic is extremely powerful and from Vex's story we see how her uncle just finds the isles gloomy and unfit for the living etc... instead of being worried that the wraiths will consume him. So I assume yordles can't be consumed by the mist as they are immortal. Maybe if some magic/attack was involved that would kill even a yordle/immortal being then maybe they could be revived and corrupted by the mist. The aspect of Pantheon although "immortal" was killed by Aatrox and then the mist revived him to posess Atreus again so by that logic it is possible but only if Veigar would be killed by some extremely powerful attack, which hopefully won't happen because I don't want him to die 😅

Veigar’s attempts at villainy leaving things better than he found them is both tragic and inspiring. The fact that even after centuries of torture an imprisonment, there’s something diamond-hard inside Veigar that compels him to help people says a lot about just how good he truly is deep down, even if he himself doesn’t realize it.

Veigars new lore made him my new favorite character beside Kled... I mean... what the- He is the biggest joke yet but also menacing when you think about him serving under Mordekaiser. To cite Vegeta: "He's so cool but he's so goddamn dumb" I love it.

Some redesign ideas for Veigar: As yordles are generally animalistic or at least furry, he strongly resembles a black cat, with gold eyes with slit pupils and a dark purple nose. Black cats are associated with the supernatural, magical arts and misfortune, they're bad omens to some, but they're also adorable, fluffy, little babies. He is covered in fur. You want to scratch his checks. You want to kiss his little forehead. He's so lovable and he HATES it. His large pointy ears, visible under the brim of his hat, move to signal his emotions for more expressive animation. They both have notches on them, that help him look pitiable and allude to his past as a prisoner and victim of abuse. He has big 'weathered street cat hissing and growling at you when you try to pet it because it's reflexively afraid of people and shows that through aggression' energy. Your idea that his face (his cute kitty face!) is never fully in the shadow of his hat despite him trying to look mysterious and ominous is brilliant. He’s very lively, since he acts like a classic cartoon villain who’s so excited and gleeful about being evil, so he has a habit of jostling his hat or lifting his head to reveal his whole face and then hastily pulling the hat back down. His robe no longer has the spiked metal hem and is of a soft, loose, flowing fabric. It’s dark indigo with silver sparkles all over it like he’s wearing the night sky, in homage to the stars he draws his power from. Except the beautiful pattern is interrupted and partly obscured by a leather belt - not spiked and black, a bolder and more ‘evil’ colour than brown and a Noxian colour - with a tasteless spiky silver buckle that clashes with the stars. I love what you said about the armour and spikes working best as a parody of Mordekaiser’s aesthetic, so I want those aspects to look tacked on and out of place. To feel wrong. Accidentally on Veigar’s part, but deliberately in a meta sense. Between the robe, his big purple wizard hat matching his nose that also makes his body look smaller and cuter and the black cat associations, you’ve got a perfectly good yordle celestial mage design; but the influence of Mordekaiser is intruding on it, corrupting it, even. That is the clear conflict of this design. While the robe is comfortable, the armour doesn’t appear to be. This impression is helped by it all being at least a little oversized, because Noxian armour doesn’t come in yordle size and therefore Veigar has cobbled his together out of scraps he scavenged (I mean, he STOLE, how wicked) and he isn’t really a great blacksmith. His boots aren’t clown shoes or anything, but they’re big enough that his attempt at an imposing villainous stride is awkwardly clunky. They could have black leather straps on them to hold them tighter than their metal fasteners will allow. His gauntlets have sloppy welding seams and possibly patches of different shades of silver/grey where he used different pieces of metal. His spiked pauldrons were cut out of human ones and still jut out too much, one of them having an irregular shape that gives him a dash of Noxian asymmetry and marks him further as a flawed imitation of a fantasy supervillain. The message that he’s incompetent at something and did it anyway out of passion, perhaps not even realizing his mistakes or at least too proud to acknowledge them, makes him come across as comedic and yet an endearingly earnest, hardworking underdog, and adds to the surprise of his genuine incredible cosmic power - he couldn’t learn to smith properly before forging his own armour, but he can command the energy of the stars to smite you? Yeah. That’s Veigar. There’s one silver ring around the base of his hat that has five spikes on it, thick, long and evenly positioned so that from above, they form a star shape. Specifically, an inverted star with one spike pointing directly forward. Symbolism! His belt buckle could also be an inverted star to establish that as a motif of his; it’s spiky, but more personal and iconic than just spikes themselves.

I think yordles are fae of inspiration. They absorb the culture round them and incorporate it into their very essence and distill it into a parody of the soul of the land. With this parody they become living memes to inspire heroes and soldiers and become living legends.

"Now he seeks to end all conflict on Valoran. By bringing all of the city-states to their knees, regardless of affiliation." This is how all versions of his old lore ended. I always saw this hero in Veigar. Evil was done to him until it became his framework, his perspective. His ambition became to, basically, hold monopoly over evil by bringing down all evil overlords under his rule. And Veigar doesn't get it. That's the final part of the joke, the one that I really hoped they'd double down on and what makes it, despite dark, tragically sweet. That is what his title always meant to me: the tiny master of evil When I hear his lines and how they're delivered; "Even now, your loved ones suffer." I hear theatrics. I hear an act. - Look at me, see how I'm evil. I'm all the evil, all the evil is mine. You can't have any! - Sadly for me Veigar's lore now end as follow: "With his diabolic staff in hand, he seeks nothing less than to bring all before him to their knees, and revels in the timely demise of those who dare to underestimate him." So the Veigar I saw may just fade away. But the short story gives me some hope. The "acting it out" is even more evident (even a little more childish) in that one. He only really showed interest in appearing menacing to the people in the short story, but not to actually do anything to them, while showing interest in defeating those who dare use his "evil". - Because it once was Morderkaiser's evil and only Morderkaiser did not suffer in his vile reign. Veigar did, but will never again. No one can have evil, evil belongs to Veigar now. -

I agree! To me, Veigar has always been sort of an anti-hero. The thing I've noticed about yordles is that they tend to be very ambitious. Once they find something they're passionate about, they go all in. For Tristana, it's being a Bandle Gunner. For Kled, it's his property. For Ziggs, it's blowing stuff up. For Veigar, it's world peace - by means of world domination. Like most yordles, he is still ambitious, except his ambition has been twisted by years of mental torture and isolation. That is actually a pretty interesting character trait when you think about it!

I think that Veigar should be akin to Kled and paired with Lulu; Lulu embodies the good and playful side of magic while Veigar embodies the corrupting aspect of magic Given that yordles at this point seem to represent nations and concepts rather than necessarily being a cohesive race I think it would be nice.

In my headcanon, Veigar is a fluffy black cat. Pointy ears, tail, golden eyes (that glow, apparently). Nobody can convince me otherwise - he's just a black cat yorle and is actually adorable, which is why he hides himself and overcompensates with big spikes.

Veigar vs Syndra anyone? Assuming it doesn't go horribly wrong, this sounds like an awesome story give both some character development Veigar hears about this evil overlord who has everyone cowering in fear of her cataclysmic power, decides that is very much his thing and tracks her down to show who is truly evil. Syndra of course kicks his ass, but Veigar keeps coming back. The world sees Syndra as everything Veigar wants to be, but that's not who she really is. Now we don't know who that would be, but the story should shed some light on that. Also it should make for an interesting dynamic if Veigar eventually does give up, because he would probably adopt her as his new master/teacher in the ways of evil.

I don't dislike Veigar and Lulu having a relationship, romantic or otherwise (at this point I'd just be happy to have Veigar interact with any champion other than Mordekaiser), but personally I think I'd prefer a Veigar and Poppy team up. Again, they don't necessarily have to get romantic, but their dynamic has so much potential. Like, maybe Veigar tries to fight Poppy because he heard about someone that carries a hammer that was meant for a hero, but then Poppy tells Veigar she's not the hero, and Veigar just fully believes it, and decides to actually help her find the hero so that he can defeat them himself.

Also, when did they update his abillity animations? I played with a Veigar today and his attacks where alot less glittery and more dark in tone. I'm glad he's getting a bit more love from Riot. He's a mortal playing with godly powers. He created a new breed of butterflies as a testament to mortal power. Why settle for butterflies? He has a kingdom to take over. Why did he let his collection perish? Well why did he want a portrait at this exact moment? They mark important turning points in his life. Does he have use for things from his 'previous' life after a page has been turned? Butterflies in this context symbolize artificial selection and the implications what Vlad could achieve with that knowledge. IRL people have used selective breeding to 'invent' many things... if I recall correctly carrots in their most known form are a produce of selective breeding among other things.
