Everybody knows Tore from Europe. Occasionally he does the pba-50 stop. Patrick Allen how he became a HOF bowler. Barnes we all know his history of greatness. As for DeVaney didn't win many titles but made shows. Always entertaining to watch.

Being behind the curtain, Barnes has no way of knowing who devaney handed it to

Retired because of his knee and not being able to compete much with the new guys Nowadays he’s running a pro shop in NY or somewhere

Homefield Bowl in Yonkers NY. Hard to compete with the 2 handers at your peak. But bad knee and what not. Not a bad time to retire imo.

@@ChanceOfOne344254 Isn't that exactly how a tour bowler should retire? Several PBA players are buying up pro-shops and starting their own brands. I'd love to 'settle down' that way and drill balls and tell tour stories until my accidental death via ball return at the age of 74.

@@NotQuiteEpic I think it is a good way to retire. Robert Smith runs a pro shop in Ventura County. I've heard that the vast majority of pros own a shop.

His knees are what caused him to not be able to bowl 100%. Nothing with being able to compete with the men/women of today. His competition was his knees and body. Unfortunately he had to retire. His pro shop is nice. I visited there once. I remember his 1st title and that interview. He’s a nice guy.

I like to watch bowlers those days who threw balls singlehanded, they look masculine

Back when it was a game of skill and not a game of who can put the most revs on and leave awkward splits.

12 year-old Belmo was averaging 220 and dropping perfect games at this time too. He was raised in the bowling alley.

@@NotQuiteEpic obviously. All 2 handers are raised in bowling alleys. This is why they never learned 1 handed style.

Style doesn’t matter in Bowling as long as you knock down pins. I’ve bowled with my League mate who’s a 2 Hander and I have no problem with him not even those old adult League Bowlers were complaining. Besides 2 Handers still have disadvantages too like the style is harder to master the style and also you can’t control the high revs when the Oil breaks down. Just stop whining about them just because of their higher pin carry. Also what happens if there’s a 1 Handed Straight Bowler on the PBA that had less chance of leaving Splits and plays any sport pattern like no big deal, will you ever complain about that ?
@ushkadush
@ushkadush 2 жыл бұрын
@Pinoy Bowler you say style doesn't matter yet you stated the obvious why it does and that's because of the higher revs which produces better pin carry. Those baddie 2 handers are most likely curving the ball rather than rolling it. Also there is a simple way to adjust to lane break down and that's to carry a plastic ball. They tend to not curve as much. Belmonte seems to be the goat cause he can utilize all the knowledge I lay before you and then some. But the real challenge is for those 1 handers. Who can never get as much revs. Yet still can throw high enough revs to do the job. Between you and I, I believe who ever can throw the higher revs is the best at blowing up a full rack to knock everything down with better strike %

@@ushkadushBelmonte…. The goat? When he passes up Walter ray Williams jr in titles on pba tour, then he’d be the goat. Currently, Pete webber, Parker bohn III, and earl Anthony are more deserving of goat status than a guy who disrupts others with a water bottle. Denies it to their face but goes on a podcast laughing about it.
