I use ableton live 11 and manipulate samples, usually from other songs.

@@questionexclamatory I usually look for melodic stuff to sample and just find stuff from playlists on youtube or through songs i like on spotify. Typicall I look for songs that have no drums or barely noticeable ones, tho if theres a song i really like that has drums already there is software you can use to try and remove it (the results vary), iZotope RX is great for that, and then I add my own drum beat/sample to use.
