It would be great if TCGPlayer could upload pictures of actual cards in all categories with the low end and high end of each spectrum. It would make things A LOT easier for everyone.

Great video! I just wish more buyers would watch video's like this instead of mainly sellers.

At 9:20 you can see where all of the confusion happens. That example of a LP card could be interpreted as HP/MP to some. Scuffs, Bends, Indents, Grime?.. and Some would even say that a scratch being only 2 points for slight is NM. This is ALL sorts of confusing.

So autographed cards are automatically classified as damaged?

yes

What about foil curling?
@MTGHedgefund2 жыл бұрын
It's my understanding that foils can curl up to 1cm in height if laid on a flat surface and not impact scoring. Anything above that is considered damage. But I would check the condition guide to be sure.

@@MTGHedgefund only 1cm? Man I got boxes of commander legends foils so bad it can bend the box lol
@MTGHedgefund2 жыл бұрын
@@lordandriolf my bad, I just checked and it's actually half a centimeter (5mm) lol yeah those CL foils were garbage. If you need to unbend a card, you can hydrate or dehydrate it depending on which way it bends. There's a good article on MTGPrice about it. Basically if it bends toward you, it needs to be dehydrated. If it bends away from you, it needs to be rehydrated. I've used this method to fix my cards in the past.

I came here because I got destroyed on my RI because of these "imperfections" on my cards that I sent in. Not sure I believe my cards had that many imperfections to get downgraded and get charged back practically my whole RI

At 10:30 you list the characteristics for what cards should be listed as Damaged. In the past I've been told that cards with foreign substances are unsuitable for the platform. Also, you list culturally offensive cards as Damaged. Does this mean I can list an Invoke Prejudice as Damaged? Perhaps it was meant as a joke but it raises confusion. An explanation of what cards shouldn't be listed on TCGPlayer would be very helpful.
@TCGplayerSeller2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, our conditioning standards categorize a card with foreign substances based on the severity of that imperfection. To provide further clarity, this video explains how to condition your cards. The Direct by TCGplayer program does not accept cards with significant foreign substances or culturally offensive cards, and we identify that by labeling it as “Damaged”. We do understand the confusion this creates, but it’s the only label in our system that will “reject” these cards back to the seller. You may choose to list Damaged cards on the marketplace, however, TCGplayer has a list of culturally offensive cards that are banned from our platform, which can be viewed here: seller.tcgplayer.com/articles/7-magic-cards-deactivated-from-our-marketplace/ To learn more about TCGplayer’s conditioning standards, please visit this link: help.tcgplayer.com/hc/en-us/articles/221430307-How-can-I-tell-what-condition-a-card-is-in-
