There is a concert where this piece was performed in Vienna, Austria a long time ago with Karajan as well. He was 80+ and had to lean back to conduct. He was suffering from many physical problems at the time. However, when he performed this piece, he slowly leaned forward as the piece got to its high point. He was conducting so brilliantly even at such an old age. It was like he was suddenly given the power to fly and was taking off! I was worried that he was falling forward and into the orchestra.😅 Such a beautiful piece!

Eine echte Perle der Weltmusikliteratur!!! (Nur die zwischengeschaltete Werbung ist ein furchtbarer Kulturbruch und als solcher einfach nur ekelhaft!)

Genau! Und auch noch das: ich muss solch herrliche Musik laut hören, man schwebt regelrecht auf den Tönen und dann, PENG, kommt mittendrin die Werbeunterbrechung, dass man fast vom Stuhl fällt. Wie kann man diese wunderbaren Musikstücke einfach so mit brüllender Werbung unterbrechen. Vorher ok, nachher ok, aber doch nicht mittendrin!🤦‍♀
