This is one of the best works that Tchaikovsky ever composed and it,s a shame that most people don,t find it memorable or care for it, it is spectacular and sensational !!!!!

Pytor Tchaikovsky was the unquestioned greatest nineteenth century composer, as Dmitri Shostakovich was to the twentieth. Tchaikovsky passed away so relatively young at 53. if only we had him for another 15-20 years more.
@marklavardera60802 жыл бұрын
The mind boggles as to what he could achieved had he died in 1913 instead of 1893. When he died at age 53 he was at the peak of his creative powers.

When i lesten to Tchaikovsky music ....composition after composition ....I realize that the most of nowadays music have inspired from his wonderful imagination .

The final movement always gives me chills. It is a tradition for my school to play that part of the piece as a closer to our major concert. This is my favorite symphony of all time.

Agreed....also I love the slow majestic tempo in this interpretation...one of the very best ever. Wonder if Bernstein ever conducted this? I liked his slow majestic tempo in some London recording of 'Die Meistersinger'

Despite being an avid listener of Tchaikovsky's music this is the first time I've heard this symphony.

It should be performed more often, it’s magical! Perfectly captures that winter feeling. Love the Nutcracker and will forever love it, especially in winter, but his first symphony is so underrated.

Fans, if you had to pick one word to describe this piece, what would it be (asking for a poem I'm writing that references this piece)?

Since it's minor the G should be a lowercase g.
@rubennegret9707 жыл бұрын
good point, although saying g minor is saying a wet water. it is already minor if it is g, so saying G minor is more correct I would say

Bella! i was thinking the same thing! at first i thought this track would quiet and slow to calm him down, but now i’m thinking Tchaiko choose it bc it reflects how Tasuku was feeling overwhelmed? It might be a possibility since Tasuku himself thought “But its the middle of summer” i.e. the song doesn’t fit the situation or the correlation of it isn’t clear... I don’t know! gah! i’m terrible at analyzing literature but this manga makes me want to try anyway!!

@The Truth Mature and tragic are words that beg the question of the purpose of music. Music is meant for EMOTIONAL ENJOYMENT and both the 4th and 6th sicken me to the gut (except foe mvts. 3 of each)!

@The Truth I like the 5th, personable and melodic, but Tschaikowsky's negativity drags me into the muck. I prefer the expression of MIAskowsky!!!!!!!!!!
